Yes install it Direct X 10 is not 100% backwards compatible and vista can run DX9 and DX 10 side by side.

I beleive this is the link to the drivers you need, But it is for Xp mediacenter. I beleive it will work if not try the stock 410 430 chipset driver on the nvidia site.

This is the link for the stock nforce 410 430 without integrated graphics. The driver with integrated graphics is vista only.

Anything by creative they are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head that do hardware acceleration in games. Its not much but you will get a 5 or 10 percent boost in frame rate when running one. I don't know if this will hold true in vista or not because of the new sound model but under XP it was true.

It won't give you a performance increase in 32 bit applications but it doesn't seem to slow down after 6 months either. I've been running 64 bit vista since the release date and it runs as good now as the day I installed it. But you do loose some compatibility.

64 bit requires all drivers be signed and is only backword compatible to 32 bit. If you have any old 16 bit stuff it will not run. Data base performance is day and night faster with native 64 bit DBs. You may also run into some problems on the 64 bit system the first time windows update runs it will pull in some drivers you don't want. So if you decide to install it make sure you have all the latest drivers downloaded before hand and turn off auto update until they are in. (had win update crrash a couple of hps i put on 64 bit) One other thing about the 64 bit version you don't seem to get the slowdown of the machine after time as bad as you do with a 32 bit system. I have been running 64 bit vista since release day.

I had simular problems with other games I was playing when I switched to Vista. Unfortunatly my answer was putting in an ATI video card after doing that everything was happy. ATI has better vista drivers than Nvidia but Nvdias are improving daily.

That does look cool for playing games that are dark and you need to turn out the lights. I would go to a local Best Buy or Comp USA to see if they have one so I could feel the keys before buying though. If they don't Saitec products are usually pretty good.
