My sister has just gotten it (hasn't read it yet) and I've seen it all over the place and heard it was really good...from the ladies only. Is this a chick flick in book form? (seriously guys, I rather not read a book and get bored half way. I am obsessive when it comes to reading, and once I start a novel I have to finish it before I can criticize/love it.

The United States runs on votes and majority rules systems. So, why proclaim this vote in California false and illegal (something about it being a Supreme Ct decision, and thus subject only to the judicial system's courts) after the votes have been counted? To legitamize their claim, the homosexuals would have had to protest BEFORE the vote even took place. Because they are protesting after the vote, they are basically throwing a hissy fit. IF you thought the public's voting on such an issue was illegal, why didn't you protest before the vote took place? Seriously, are these protesters little children or what?

Well, I'm getting Resistance 2 and the new Prince of Persia when it comes out. I just have some questions: what other games would you recommend for me: I am a gamer who likes shooters, adventures, rpgs, etc. I did look at the recommendation thread, but I've found little in terms of future titles that look good. Hopefully thats where you guys come in. Help me out please!

Lol, but I am leaning PS3. I just am not sure, but if I go to the PS3/360 boards, I'll also get biased answers. So I gotta try here.

Look, here is whats up: my birth day is coming up at Nov 5 and my parents, after some years, have decided that I can have a new console to play before I leave high school (i am not allowed to work in a job b/c my parents think thats degrading somehow.....some cultural thing when they moved to the states). Anyway, I am in a quandary: I see the PS3, with its potential, some future games, and Resistance 2/the new Prince of Persia, and really want it. Yet the 360 has become half the price (a little bit easier on my parents) and has some goods games also (like gears of war 2) but I really don't see any games coming in its future. So.........what do I get? I know this place is less about facts and more about fanboyism, but I'm sure there are some who can help. After all, what other forum can I turn to?

lol forget it. Apparently I came out to critical, or something to that extent. Whatever: if I've personally insulted some of you, I'm sorry. BUt really guys, try to read by posts before you go insane on me. I am not saying that we should only discuss gaming on an OFF-Topic board, if that was what you were thinking. But if you really want to know: yes, I do think there is ignorance when it comes to the major topics on this board, and I am merely trying to point out that not every opinion voiced is neccessarly an informed one.

um.......I'm not calling anyone "nonintellectual." I am saying that people on this board (in general) should take what they hear as a grain of salt: its nothing life-changing. I'm personally entertained by the interesting stories ppl have to tell on these boards. I'm just saying that when it comes to critical debates, ppl should really rethink posting in such topics, since most ppl here are for gaming, not debating. Thats all

I rarely post in these boards, but lately I've been seeing topics about everything from abortion to 9/11 conspiracies. I have to say, if you guys want intellectual stimulation, look else where. I am concerned by the expansion of such topics by people who, frankly, have no idea what they are taking about. Most here are very liberal, and thus forget their moderation. I think that, in order to have an intellectual discussion, there should be a forum to go to (not on gamespot) that actually includes knowledge filled peoples, not speculating adolences. My two cents, because I fear that foolish speculation results in askewed beliefs and false conclusions. Especially when topics become religious or contraversally political (like abortion, same sex marriage, etc). Look outside this site for the facts.
