@snaketus @plaintomato They were saying it would use 1GB. Which would leave 7GB of DDR5 vs 5GB of DDR3. That's pretty significant. Or it was.

Now they're pretty much the same. So anyone with any interest in camera functionality would be likely to choose the X1. And if you take the cam out of it, it's looking like a toss up.

There goes another PS4 advantage. The more information comes out, the more the two consoles look the same. Now it's just a question of whether you want a Kinect or a Touch Pad...and if it's worth the extra $100 for the Kinect, which is an easy "yes" for anyone who would be picking up a PS Eye anyway.

I used to be firmly in the PS4 camp, but closing the power gap (with MS already leveling the rest of the playing field) has me leaning X1 now.

For all the tween fanboy hate, the X1 & Kinect are pretty cool tech. And following Sony's lead on a lot of things is only making the X1 better. Thank heaven for Sony and competition.

This Kinect plan tho is one thing that shouldn't change. The consistency of having it on EVERY console is the only thing that will give Kinect a chance to be all it could be. Whether it will become great or not is another question, but to have that chance it needs to be part of the kit.

I just hope those benefits transfer over to the Kinect for PC, because frankly I'd rather have an Oculus than either of these consoles.

@EL_Bomberdor Demon's Souls is harder, has (had?) servers, and has a generally darker vibe. Dark Souls is bigger and more balanced. If Dark Souls had servers I'd say it was the better game. It doesn't, so I'm not sure if I'd say that or not. Anyway, there is no Demon's Souls on PC, so I guess Demon's isn't relevant in a Steam Sale kind of way, making Dark Souls the best game ever of all time ever.
