Precisely why they would require an additional fee for multiplayer, but single player will remain "free". Don't underestimate the stupidity of gamers. People will gladly pay $20 for a map pack that used to be free on the pc, yet you think they won't pay $10 to play multiplayer. In fact, I'll bet most publishers of popular franchises will disable multiplayer for used games until activated with a fee. Keep in mind that prior to steam, origin, uplay EVERY used pc games had multiplayer disabled. Now EVERY used pc games are completely disabled. Where's the complaint?
Holy sh!t. Can it be. Will there finally be a true Freespace 3 soon to be released? No game will be more anticipated than this game for me. That's what the gaming industry needs more than anything right now. There's plenty of shooters, rpg, rts, mmo, but there's been a dearth of true space sims. Hopefully, this will revive the genre.
It only takes one publisher to push for activation fees and the rest will fall in line. I predict Activision will require a fee for multiplayer COD used. If I had any stocks in Gamestop I'd dump it all now while you still can.
3.4 million systems for a new console is indeed paltry. That's worldwide! They not only need to show familiar IP in HD like Mario and Zelda but they need to release them ASAP. Nobody is going to run out and buy a system just because they saw a video that may be years from release.
Mirror's Edge 2, Battlefront, Jedi Academy 2, Dark Forces 3 without jedi powers, Republic Commando 2, 1313, and reboot of X-Wing Alliance would make my day.
Is there any reason why this game requires windows 8? Boy, that OS must be a bigger failure than I thought. Vista had to use Halo 2 for no reason while win 7 had no exclusive game. All MS is encouraging is piracy.
Trust me, at the time they were brilliant. Before Atari 2600, the only home video game was Pong. You'd have to go to the arcade to play video games. Also, I still have the Atari 2600 in the garage somewhere and it still works.
