Either Sony is losing a ton of money on each console sold or they got a really good deal from AMD. The price point makes sense though since the xbox1 has an HD camera. Right now there's no reason to get an xbox1 other than some exclusives since they are more consumer friendly.
Pros: no drm, no online activation, no mandatory internet connection, no limitations on used games, no intrusive camera that could be hacked, $100 less.
If I wasn't a pcgamer I'd buy a PS4. Kudos to Sony for listening to its fans and customers. As for MS, let hubris be a lesson to you. They screwed up with the xbox1 and windows 8.
Why the hell do people like this game so much? It looks even worse than the original Doom. You couldn't pay me enough money to waste hours playing this game.
Ha, called it. There's no way you can charge less with an HD camera, a 7850, and other hardware for less. Also, considering that a ipad with retina display costs $499-730 and a 10.1 tablet starts at $499 this is actually not that expensive. I guarantee that the PS4 will cost $499-599.
I can almost guarantee that it's a timed exclusive unless the company is owned by MS or Sony. Developers can not afford to make games to only one platform, especially when budgets approach $100 million.
It will most likely be $499. If people think that's too much then consider that the ipad with retina costs anywhere between $499-729 and a 10.1 tablet starts at $499. Yet, these tablets are selling like hotcakes. The original PS3 was $599-699 and they were still losing money. There's no way Sony is going to sell at $399 and take such a huge loss unless AMD gave them a contract with ultra low prices. These consoles are basically HTPC so I'd say $499 is actually a fair price.
