depending on your budget Id go for a new one,which isnt that much more expensive, but if that is to much money then go for a used one or wait till the prices drop again.
unlikely they sitll do the rosters updates for nfl 2k5 but try anyway, or you could do it the old way and do it yourself it will take some time but trust me because it is nfl and there is not alot of major roster changes, it wont take as long as if you were doing it for nhl hockey games, which I do all the time.
I bought a used GBASP (it's the older model from launch day) and I didn't have any problems till last week when I was playing my new FF6 I bought, the screen went completely blank after 20 mins, then I go to play it again (3 HRs later) and it does the same thing, with a different game, I was wondering if I should get a replacement (I could get a micro or another Sp) and I wanted to know if I should go for another SP or a micro?
I know that it can't hold a charge for more than an hour at the most.

Its the lithium battery, the system itself is fine, I have a portable dvd player and it does the same things you described yet when I use the ac plug or carlighter plug it works fine.
If you just bought it recently see if you can exchange it or try and find another battery.
