They do play very differently, despite COD4's Counter-Strike-like gameplay.

well yes, but the strange part was that skill usually carries over to other games, especially of the same genre. like me, im generally good at games. iwas good at halo 3, and when i got cod4, iwas good on that also.

just sorta wierd how a guy who is one of the best players at the company who made the game would be kinda bad at other shooters.

I have'nt played COD 4 so I don't know how different it is from halo 3. However I have halo 3 and rainbow six vegas, I'm decent at halo 3 but I'm terrible at R6. Different games have different playstyles however I do agree that some general skill does carry over between games.

On topic: I haven't gotten the opportunity to play anyone from GS :(

Wow 2 days later and this thread is still going strong, though it seems to be dying down yet. I guess we still haven't heard anything new then? I'm not suprised, CNET and Eidos are just going to try and sweep it under the rug so they don't get any more bad publicity.

This is seriously on of the most epic topics I have ever seen or posted in. Keep it up guys, don't let this get swept under the rug until the truth is known. Also if you haven't voted in the petition please do so.

You guys asked for it, and here it is, the online Petition!

http://www.petitiononline.com/GAMEJEFF/petition.html

Warfust

Signed, number 10. And I generally hate petitions.

Same here. I signed 32nd.

I signed 37th.

And I am the 100th

No I am

Anyways I'd also like yo say that I support everything that has been said in this thread that I didn't already mention in my first post.

Edit: wtf it isn't adding me to the list, I tried to sign twice now and it seems to work but then my name doesn't show up

So it is true :( I can't say I didn't think GS was starting to go downhill over the last year, with the changed rating system and some questionable reviews as of late. This just comfirms it and ruins their credibility as a site. However I'm not leaving like some people are and I feel that they are being too drastic. The one thing GS still has is their community and we'll lose that too if everyone leaves. Unless there's a place where we can all go (I'm gonna check out Omni's site) I'm staying here for now. As others have said this isn't just bad because of jeff's firing, but it damages GS's reputation quite severely. In the meantime I'm going to see how it all turns out.

OK we know kotaku isn't always the most credible source and I really hope this isn't true. Jeff is one the last and longest members of the GS crew and he is definitely one of the most entertaining to watch and listen to. I've questioned a couple of his reviews as of late but I REALLY don't want him to go. This is just low.

Ok there is no security menu in my control panel by the way thank you both for your helpgatzmyer

Do you have admin rights on your computer? If you don't then the icon may be hidden since your account wouldn't be allowed to change settings like that.

It's in the control panel under security, it's called windows firewall. Just open it up and disable it and see if that helps.

Sorry I'm not an expert on this stuff and I've never connected my 360 through a PC, but you could try disabling windows firewall since it might be blocking your 360. You've also tried configuring everything manually? (IP, subnet, default gateway and DNS)

Edit: ^beat me to it

Your modem has to have DHCP enabled or you'll have to enter an IP address into your 360 manually.
