There is no denying that the first Mario games were revolutionary but as time went on, sequel after sequel, the games are just more of the same and Nintendo would slap Mario's face on another game genre

Mario Kart (Racing)
Super Smash Bro's (Fighting)
Mario Power Tennis (Sports)
etc

I don't see what is so special about these games, New Super Mario Bro's was the most repetitive platformer i have ever played, every level was nearly identical with a changed background and the levels looked like nothing, oh and i almost forgot the SAME boring story AGAIN, peach is kidnapped by bowser AGAIN and you have to go to tower after tower AGAIN to rescue her AGAIN!

I don't see why people like Mario Kart better than any other racing game, the other racing games are more i depth and detailed but:

Gran Turismo 5 (8.0)
Forza 4 (8.5)
Need for Speed Shift (7.0)
F1 2011 (8.0)
Midnight Club Los Angeles (7.5)

but

Mario Kart DS (9.2)

[QUOTE="ps3gameplayer"]

I know it's an old post but i just found it

Mirror's Edge: The reviewer sucks at it.

Splinter Cell HD Trilogy: Those framerate issues the reviewer complain about are pretty much non existant.

Tomb Raider Udderworld: The reviewer said the game was to similar to previous ones even though every Mario game is pretty much a copy from it's predecessor.

Uncharted Drakes Fortune: 8.0, it deserved a 9.0 (which it nearly scored most other places), the reviewer compained about fustrating gameplay, he obvisouly sucks at it, mabye the same guy who review mirror's edge.

Saint's Row 2: The review starts by comparing the game to GTA IV, no one can seem to review it without mentioning GTA IV, the Battlefield 3 review doesn't start out mentioning COD, why is it so hard here?

Mafia II: While the overall score was good (8.5, 9.0 for me, but 8.5 is still great), the review compained about mundane tasks (that were just a simple tap of the Trigangle/Y button), the reviews for GTA IV (dates) and Heavy Rain (brushing your teeth) that required effort in their mundane tasks did not have any complaints in the reviews.

The Simpsons Game: Shallow, because Mario is soooooo deep.

Assassin_87

I didn't even think about the first Uncharted. That definitely shouldn't have gotten 8.0'd.

I know, gamespot overlooked it and struggled with the combat, i did at first but i got the hang of it, and i have no idea why they said certain story elements are underdeveloped, it was a great story. 9.0

I would also like to state that i haven't played it due to owning a PS3 but Splinet Cell Conviction suffered unfair criticism, reviews compained about stealth opions being stripped down (that i can beleive), but Grand Theft Auto IV review did not and that game clearly had features stripped away.

Nice to see only one person said Skyrim (which is okay) because it ruined the competition everywhere, nearly every game of the year award went to Skyrim.

Uncharted 3

benleslie5
That's second on my list after Saints Row The Third, and for anyone who asks i haven't played Skyrim because it is sold out everywhere, besides it apparently has lag issues.

Title says it all, i personally think it is Saints Row The Third, it may not be as polished as other games but it delivers great gameplay that is just plain fun and it has great replay value and more variety that i have ever seen in a video game.
