[QUOTE="DarthJohnova"] So your logic is that these complaints are invalid because other games have it worse?Justforvisit

No i am saying that games can have the same problem (e.g. Kane and Lynch 2 and CoD, not bashing them) and others may have it worse, e.g. New Super Mario Bro's is clearly too familar to previous games while Tomb Raider Underworld will offer a fresh expereience with new locations and gameplay mechanics. What i am trying to say is that the bolded games have suffered unfair criticism when the other games have the same issuses as compained about as mentioned in the reviews for the bolded games, anway this thread was made so others could list games that have unfair criticism.

But in most of those cases it's so that the games who didn't get an "unfair" review have many many many many stuff that overshines the weakspots and almost makes them hardly noticing them or they're just plain so good that it's worth to go through and they would be even better if they hadn't those, the ones you mentioned, well I can only speak for Splinter Cell because I played the first two games on PS2 and TRU because I own it:

About Splinter Cell, for games who're 10 years old and whilst most other HD Collection Titles work smooth and eprfectly fine you'd expect that it would run smooth, also in a Stealth Game where timing is critical important one Framerate could be the difference between a Stealth Kill and Alert Activated.

About TRU, it plays like Tomb Raider Legend, just darker, with less enemy variation and less revolutionary. Also the game design is plain bad, like the decision putting a complex underwarter level right at the start of the game. So the game starts really slow and drags along, and in the ACTION Adventure Genre having a slow start is a big mistake in my opinion.

The Splinter Cell 'famerate issues' are largley over-exaggerated and are just hiccups that last about a second, if that.

As for Tomb Raider underworld, sure it has similar gameplay to Legend (well DUH, it's part of the same series), and of course it's darker (hence the same Underworld), the game was made to have more platforming this time around and was designed for those who had played the previous two games so the would have not struggled with the underwater level.

Kane and Lynch 2 Dog Days: Comapaints were egiven for being too repetitive for just shooting and shooting and having a short campaign, Call of Duty suffers from those issues too.

tab134

pretty sure that got bashed because it was 4 hours long

Call of Duty campaigns usually are not much longer and Kand and Lynch and they both have online.

This is not a thread about underrated games such as The Saboteur but a thread about games that have gotten a review with negative compaints about problems that exist in other games but those problems were not compained about in the review for the other game.

Splinter Cell HD Trilogy: Review compained about frame rate issues (that were just frame rate hicupps) but the Skyrim review did not.

Tomb Raider Underworld:Reviews compained about the game being too similar to previous games, however New Super Mario Bro's was praised for being more of the same.

Mafia II:Reviews compained about mundane tasks that were simply just as tap of the Y/Triangle button, however the mudane dates in Grand Theft Auto IV were not compained about and the mundane tasks in Heavy Rain were praised for being engaging.

Kane and Lynch 2 Dog Days: Comapaints were egiven for beingtoo repetitive for just shooting and shooting and having a short campaign, Call of Duty suffers from those issues too.

It doesn't bother me at all, that is even if i notice, it is a game not a movie, who cares.

Just Cause 2 supposibly has terrible voice acting and i never notice, i buy games for games not movies.

I don't see why people focus on voice acting so much in a review?

If you don't like a review, you can choose not to read them.:)

I know i can but it is really stupid how biased some of these reviews are I mean so many people (now including myself) beleive you are paid to give certain games high reviews

I have found more proof that gamespot is biased

Let's start with the Ace Combat: Assault Horizon review, too busy being a movie, it forgets to be a game yet in the Metal Gear Solid 4 review it just says about people who might have passed the game off as more movie than game. While being more movie than game may not be a bad thing for some people, there is no denying the fact that Metal Gear Solid 4 is more movie then game.

The Kane & Lynch 2 Dog Days review compains about the game being repetitive and short, the game is just as repetitive and short as the Call of Duty games.

The Splinter Cell HD Trilogy reviews compains about frame rate issues but The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim review does not.

The Tomb Raider Underworld review compains about the game being too similar to previous games (diespite the fact that it is part of the same game series) but the New Super Mario Bro's review praises the game for being more of the same.

The Mafia II review complains about Mundane Tasks (i understand that the game has mundane taskes but most are a simple tap of the Y or Triangle button), but the Grand Theft Auto IV review does not compain about the dating and the Heavy Rain review does not compain about it's mundane taskes such as brushing your teeth.

And even a review of an abysmal game is biased, the review of Street Cleaning Simulator says that the game uses a boring concept, but the Nintendogs Review does not.

The Saint's Row 2 review is bad from the start as it compares the game to Grand Theft Auto IV too much, i don't see why no one can review the same as a game of itself This list could go on but i can not be bothered listing all of the biased reviews.
