Ghostbusters: The Video Game Update

There's still no new trailer for the highly anticipated Ghostbusters video game, but however I did manage to get a hold of these concept arts and screenshots which look really rad:

And here are some technical drawings of the Ghostbusters' equipments:

The ghostbusting tools look truly promising, especially the ghost trap, which happens to be my favourite equipment of all time. I remember buying the ghost trap toy years ago when it was first released in the early 90's and I was attached to it like mad. I also remember buying more than five traps cos I kept breaking them :P. I cried so hard when the Real Ghostbusters toy line was discontinued right after the show ended and I kept begging the toy store to keep looking in their warehouse in case they have some spare GB toys. Now that a new Ghostbusters game/ movie is on its way, I hope they make new props that are as realistic as these ones from the concept art and also new figures consisting of the Ghostbusters foursome.

Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston. It's time to charge those Proton Packs once more cos you're in for a sequel!!!

P/S: comment is greatly appreciated. I wrote so many blogs and I find it incredibly weird that no one is commenting them. Speak up! I'd love to hear what you guys think.

...That's Better!

The first Pursuit Force game was released on the PSP two years ago and it was the most frustrating games I ever played in my gaming life. The gameplay involves car chasing, car jumping and helicopter gunning actions which was totally great, but the reason the game was so abso-freaking-lutely hard because of limited time and no checkpoints. It took all my effort to accomplish the first phase in a mission and when you die at the last part, you have to start the mission all over again. Wonderful! The boss battles were meant to be hard like in any other games but what made it even more stressful was that their life bars occupied the whole PSP screen and the time limit was just not enough. Seriously, it was hell. I find it strange though that none of the reviews I read or seen from Gamespot or any other websites mentioned about it's punishing difficulty. To make matters worse, some people claim that Pursuit Force is one of the easiest games they ever played. Are you kidding me?! I suspect that the difficulty depends in where you buy the game, meaning that the US and the European versions are different. Can that be true?

But anyway, I'm glad I finished that piece of waste game. As of now, I'm currently playing Pursuit Force's new sequel: Extreme Justice, and I was hoping the developers will make some changes in this one...and thank heaven they did. My prayers were answered. Extreme Justice delivers far better gameplay with much longer time limit and yes, checkpoints. The actions are pretty much the same but you have more characters in your team and much sharper cutscenes. Another great thing is that the missions are no longer gang-based. In the previous game, you have to fight evil gangs and they are eliminated one at the time. But now, the gangs are all spread out so you have a variety in which gangs you'll be fighting with. The Convicts and the Warlords are back but I was disappointed they didn't include the Vixens for this sequel. The new gangs are terrible looking and their intentions are so predictable and lame compared to the Vixens. Bring them back!! The chief isn't as grumpy and annoying as before. I find him incredibly annoying in the first Pursuit Force game because everytime you die, he said stupid things like "don't die, or you're fired!" Even when you achieve first place on a mission he said another pathetic phrase like "you know son? You remind me of me." WTF?!!

Extreme Justice is a much better game than it's predecessor, and the gameplay is much more easier. A little too easy perhaps. Funny thing is, I actually started Extreme Justice in hard mode. Why I did it I have no idea, but strangely the game didn't feel that hard at all. I like it and you should too!

Nasty!

I'm in the middle of playing Condemned: Criminal Origins and I'm determined to finish the game before playing its sequel. Bloodshot really looks nasty and gruesome. I can't wait to get my hands on that game. For those of you who've played Condemned 2, how was it? Did you like it?

Should I Buy It?

I saw a Final Fantasy VIII game...PC Version at a video game store. I'm not a big fan of the Final Fantasy series but I've played VIII a little bit before an it was awesome. It's second hand but the price and value is great. If it's still there, should I get it?

Kane & Lynch Is Another Great Game!

Honestly, I still dunno why Gamespot gave a 6.0 rating to Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. I think it's a great game! I bought the PC version a two months ago and I had some problems playing with it cos it lags so much and it keeps bringing me to the desktop for some weird reason. I returned the game back thinking I would not play the game for quite some time, but just yesterday I bought another copy and played it again. After restarting my laptop, Kane & Lynch is now in good condition to play.

I'm a big fan of the Hitman series and I was excited as ever when IO Interactive announced tha launch of their newest creation: Kane & Lynch. And now, I can safely say this game is really worth the wait. It's fast, furious and freaking amazing. The storyline and the characters feel so lifelike that it's as if it was inspired by a blockbuster movie. Both the sound effects and the voice acting are spectacular and the action sequence are definitely fun, so what's not to like about Kane & Lynch?!

I still have no clue why former Gamepot editor Jeff Gertsmann bad mouthed this game real badly. When the game was released, I was expecting Gamespot to give it at least 8.0 or above and the moment I saw the 6.0 rating, I knew something was terribly wrong. The only thing I agree with Jeff is that Kane & Lynch emphasizes too much of swearing, but other than that what's his problem? Don't get me wrong, Jeff Gertsmann is one unique editor and I totally respect his work, effort and contribution towards Gamespot, and he seems to be doing fine with his new website Giantbomb.com, but it's a shame he has some sort of issue with this game.

Now CNET has ensured us that the dismissal of Jeff had nothing to do with this review, so what could it be the cause of it then, huh? Is it cos Jeff got drunk at work? Got involved with drugs? Humiliated his fellow co-workers with his huge amount of game collection? Be friends with rival companies like Gamespy and Gametrailers? Had an affair with his boss' daughter? Got high in the Board Room? Forgot to bring his pens and papers to work? Well, I could go on and on but for all we know, the reason for Jeff's rude departure remains anonymous. It must've been something so bad or stupid at the point where other promising editors such as Alex Navarro, Ryan Davis, Jason Ocampo and Brad Shomaker left Gamespot because of that. What a shame. I mean if you ask me, they seem to have a blast playing it in the recent Button Mashing episode so why backstabbed the game of all a sudden?

Anyway, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is a fantastic game, regardless of which consoles you play on. Don't listen to Gamespot's review. Just give this game a try, play a few stages or more before you even say anything and come up with your own conclusion.

The Club Is An Awesome Game!

When I first saw the Club trailer in one of the On The Spot episodes, I thought it looked cool and it must be cool to play too. But I wasn't sure at the time if I were to buy it at first because not many people were talking or mentioning about it. I watched some gameplay videos from the Internet, read the previews and reviews and the game seems kinda impressive. However I still wasn't convinced.

Just yesterday I was walking to a game shop and I saw a few copies of The Club, for all formats, on the shelves. The game was a bit pricey, but I thought to myself hey, why not? I bought the game (PC version), went straight back home, installed the game and tried it out. It was awesome! Normally I don't really fancy weak storyline and no-brainer games, but this one rocks. I really had a blast playing The Club and I couldn't stop playing until late at night. The Club is basically about an organization who hired eight dangerous people to play modern day gladiator matches. For each stage you can select any of the characters you want and the idea is to kill as many enemies as you can to score points. The more cunning your executions the better points you get for each killing. And the more enemies you kill in one go the more combos you will amass. The combos help increase your points rapidly and the objective of The Club is to achieve high scores and also to beat your competitor's scores as well.

It's a really sweet game which is a ton of fun and I highly recommend to those of you who want a game that has some Counterstrike vibe to it. There isn't much of a story and all you do is shoot people and try to achieve a higher score. It gets repetitive at some point but don't let that stop you from tyring it. I'll say it once and I'll say it again; it's awesome!

Vuck The Vucking Vista

Last week, I tried downgrading my Sony VAIO laptop from Windows Vista to XP for a lot of reasons. For one, Vista keeps giving me this hectic messages. Some are irrelevent and some are just pretty useless stuff. It keeps telling me that they will look for solutions but no progress has been made so far. On further note, my old favourite games cannot be played, which is a definite no-no for me. Something needs to be changed.

I should've listen to my friends warning when they told me to make sure that I downgrade my laptop when purchasing it. I didn't believe them at first because I thought they were just comparing that with Linux and being bias about it. But how right they were. I felt that Bill Gates had backstabbed me and left me to rot in the recycle bin. What happened? Why has he suddenly becoming as retarded as Vista? What went wrong? I now have little loyalty towards that old man.

Downgrading is a tricky process, but can be made possible if you have the right tools. However for Sony's case, it's different. Firstly, Sony asks you to download some files from their website before downgrading it. And one of them, which is a SATA drive, must be placed into a floppy disc. That's right. A freakin' floppy disc! Who uses a floppy anymore these days? But it somehow required because everytime I put the Windows XP CD into the computer, it gives me a message saying it couldn't find my hard drive, and the only way to solve this problem is to load up that floppy disc containing the SATA drive.

After spending the whole evening looking for a lousy stinkin' external floppy drive, the process is working smoothly so far. It asks me to select the right Intel drive, and then proceed to the XP setup. I press Enter and then F8 to agree. I delete the partition and make a new one. Ok, this is where it suppose to proceed with the XP installation, but instead gives me this crappy message saying that I need to insert a disk labeled 'Intel Matrix Storage Manager' into disc A.

It took me a long time to figure out what the hell it means. I checked the Sony Website and it had no information regarding this message. And so I called their customer service hotline and explained the situation. I spent almost an hour with the Sony guy and in the end, he couldn't help me. He however suggested me to try download some files from the Intel website and see if it works. I hung up the phone and tried that. It didn't work. I began to lose my cool. I then called Intel and believe it or not, they said that they do not cover this part of the system and so they couldn't help me either. Jackasses!

At this point I felt like smashing my head to a wall and let my brain drip out from my mouth. I was furious like mad. Desperate, I called the local PC store and they said they would like to help me, but unfortunately I have to wait 8 days till they could reservations for me since their office is fully booked. Lovely. One whole morning trying my utmost best to fix this problem but all these people mention above chickened out. Brilliant!

That afternoon, I went to my college and asked the IT guys from the IT Lab to help me. They were the nicest people compared to the other numbskulls I spoke earlier but sadly, they were just as clueless as I am. I felt like there was a shotgun somewhere in that room waiting for me to pull the trigger into my mouth. I haven't had the slighest idea how enraged I was today. With 95% effort and 5% progress, I was knocked out completely. I was exhausted and tired from it all. I lost a lot of sleep because of this bullcrap. I had no choice but to reinstall Windows Vista back into my laptop and guess I'm kinda stuck with this lousy OS until a cure can be found. Save my soul (And my laptop)!

P/S-: Just received a new emblem. I like it! A total coincidence for me to have it today because the picture totally reflects the way I felt today. Miserable!

The Orange Is In The Box

I recently bought The Orange Box yesterday and gosh, this is one of the greatest deal in the video game industry ever. Five games in one box. How cool is that? First you have three games of Half-Life 2, a new multiplayer game called Team Fortress 2 and of course, the strange quirky FPS puzzle game called Portal.

Orange In A Box

Portal is such an interesting game and I had a great time playing it from start to finish. The game is kinda short but that's the way it's supposed to be. It's meant to be short and the game is superb either way. You're basically this nameless, mute female...volunteer who wakes up in a strange laboratory-kinda room and you are ordered to finish some puzzles with a portal gun. The first few stages weren't that hard but later on, it gets a bit tough. Overall it's an easy game and it doesn't have any punishing and frustrating parts in it which is great. The ending is kinda cool especially the credit scene because they have this neat music in it. I love it! It's so catchy and funny. I couldn't stop laughing cos the lyrics were so funny and the beat was excellent.

This game consists of three Half-Life 2 games. I have yet to finish Half-Life 2 since I've never finished since it last came out a few years ago. I just got bored with it. Yes, sure the graphics are great and the shooting sequence is neat but the plot is kinda dry. Gordon Freeman doesn't have any personality, he's a freakin mute and so the game kinda lacks soul. What a shame. Hopefully Episodes One and Two will be much better. Half-Life 2 is a science fiction game so weird stuff is of course, an expected thing to occur, but there's just one thing that really bugs me because it doesn't make any sense. Despite having Gordon Freeman blasting lots of lots of enemies, climbing through all kinds of obstacles and been through hell and beyond...how come his glasses never breaks?!

I'm Level 25 Babey!

I'm Level 25 right now, ranking Defias Brotherhood, whatever that means. But who cares? I'm level 25 now, a rank ahead than Aaron Thomas I believe. Haha! As Dave Chapelle once said, "I'm rich b***h! Feels good to have finally graduated from Level 24 ranking I Feel Asleep. Sounds like a half-baked name but it does kinda make sense for me cos during this period was when I lost a lot of sleep due to assignments, courseworks and other problems I faced a few months back. So here's hoping this level will be a fruitful one.
