Last week, I tried downgrading my Sony VAIO laptop from Windows Vista to XP for a lot of reasons. For one, Vista keeps giving me this hectic messages. Some are irrelevent and some are just pretty useless stuff. It keeps telling me that they will look for solutions but no progress has been made so far. On further note, my old favourite games cannot be played, which is a definite no-no for me. Something needs to be changed.
I should've listen to my friends warning when they told me to make sure that I downgrade my laptop when purchasing it. I didn't believe them at first because I thought they were just comparing that with Linux and being bias about it. But how right they were. I felt that Bill Gates had backstabbed me and left me to rot in the recycle bin. What happened? Why has he suddenly becoming as retarded as Vista? What went wrong? I now have little loyalty towards that old man.
Downgrading is a tricky process, but can be made possible if you have the right tools. However for Sony's case, it's different. Firstly, Sony asks you to download some files from their website before downgrading it. And one of them, which is a SATA drive, must be placed into a floppy disc. That's right. A freakin' floppy disc! Who uses a floppy anymore these days? But it somehow required because everytime I put the Windows XP CD into the computer, it gives me a message saying it couldn't find my hard drive, and the only way to solve this problem is to load up that floppy disc containing the SATA drive.
After spending the whole evening looking for a lousy stinkin' external floppy drive, the process is working smoothly so far. It asks me to select the right Intel drive, and then proceed to the XP setup. I press Enter and then F8 to agree. I delete the partition and make a new one. Ok, this is where it suppose to proceed with the XP installation, but instead gives me this crappy message saying that I need to insert a disk labeled 'Intel Matrix Storage Manager' into disc A.
It took me a long time to figure out what the hell it means. I checked the Sony Website and it had no information regarding this message. And so I called their customer service hotline and explained the situation. I spent almost an hour with the Sony guy and in the end, he couldn't help me. He however suggested me to try download some files from the Intel website and see if it works. I hung up the phone and tried that. It didn't work. I began to lose my cool. I then called Intel and believe it or not, they said that they do not cover this part of the system and so they couldn't help me either. Jackasses!
At this point I felt like smashing my head to a wall and let my brain drip out from my mouth. I was furious like mad. Desperate, I called the local PC store and they said they would like to help me, but unfortunately I have to wait 8 days till they could reservations for me since their office is fully booked. Lovely. One whole morning trying my utmost best to fix this problem but all these people mention above chickened out. Brilliant!
That afternoon, I went to my college and asked the IT guys from the IT Lab to help me. They were the nicest people compared to the other numbskulls I spoke earlier but sadly, they were just as clueless as I am. I felt like there was a shotgun somewhere in that room waiting for me to pull the trigger into my mouth. I haven't had the slighest idea how enraged I was today. With 95% effort and 5% progress, I was knocked out completely. I was exhausted and tired from it all. I lost a lot of sleep because of this bullcrap. I had no choice but to reinstall Windows Vista back into my laptop and guess I'm kinda stuck with this lousy OS until a cure can be found. Save my soul (And my laptop)!

P/S-: Just received a new emblem. I like it! A total coincidence for me to have it today because the picture totally reflects the way I felt today. Miserable!
