I Take It All Back

The Transformers movie wasn't that bad after all. Although it could've been better by making the movie focuses more on the war machines than those petty humans, but overall it's above average. They should've made it like the Transformers- The Movie cartoon of 1986, which emphasized more on the actions, the war between the Autobots and Decepticons and most importantly, NO HUMAN INVOLVEMENTS!!! This Michael Bay movie should be dubbed as "Sam and The Transformers" coz it seems that Sam was more of the main star and hero than the ultimate Optimus Prime. I'm sick and tired of convincing people to realize this but nobody listens, so for those who approve of the movie...that's your problem.

I gave it a 5.8 rating before but now I changed my mind. It's now 7 (Plot: 9, Sound: 7, Performance: 6, Value: 8, Tilt: 5)!

But just because I increased the meter a little, that doesn't affect my taste forthe movie. I still disapprove of it! Everyone love the movie, but I refused to be in that side of the camp. It may be a must-watch movie of 2007, but if I were to vote as one of the best movies of the year, Transformers is definitely not my pick.

I Was In E3!

Well, not exactly physically in E3 of 2007 but I was virtually there like most of you guys. Man, it really feels good to finally catch an event like this. I regretted a lot for not watching both E3 2006 and the PS3/Wii launch. If only I knew they'd be rewarding emblems by tuning in live (Gamespotshould really notify us properly in the near future. I'm pretty sure not everyone is aware of how or when to obtain emblems, like the E3 of 2007 for example)...but all have been compensated now that I've watched all three E3 events precisely on time! However, I didn't catch the entire events like I should be doing since I only care about getting only the emblems :P (And the Internet connection was not all that great), but from I saw, the Nintendo & Sony Conferences had the most interesting and never-a-dull-moment stuff in them, and what's best, they even had Chewbacca FOR REAL to present the Limited Edition Star Wars PSP and the new Battlefront game. That was cool!

So yeah, it was worth it. With three new emblems in my profile I don't see why I should complain. And to others who watched it too, congrats! But for those who didn't make it, you have my sympathy.

Sincerely,

Transformers Film...Disappointing? Let's Vote!!!

Hey guys. Just want to get all your opinions. How was the Transformers movie? I've watched it and both the graphics and effects are the best I've ever seen...but overall it's crap. I was hoping to see more of the Autobots and Decepticons battling with each other but instead the movie put a twist by making you care more for the human characters than the Transformers. I think that sucks!!!

Almost 2/3 of the movie it's all about the Government, the FBI, the Civilians and other irrelevant characters that really drove the main story of the Transformers. You see Sam more as the main hero and the main attraction than the legendary Optimus Prime. He became like a supporting star, not the hero.

Don't get me wrong. The effects and the graphics are amazing, but I don't approve of this movie. It's really crappy the way they focuses the humans more than the Transformers. I hate it!!! I'll give it like 5.8 rating, a mediocre level. This is my opinion. What u guys think? Tell me, I want to know what others think.

Tell me what u think and give ur honest rating. Let the vote begins!!!

3D...Oh? (Soldier of Misfortune)

A Crappy Company

It all began in 1998. The video game company once known as 3DO created a phenomenal series that comprised an outstanding theory but a lousy execution. They had the right idea but made the wrong moves. They were responsible in creating countless console games throughout the years like Heroes of Might & Magic, Battletanx, Uprising and of course- Army Men. When it first made its debut in the late 90's, many were sceptical with it's bizzare control schemes and universe but the moment Army Men II was released, the audience knew what they were getting at.

Army Men is like a Toy Story spin-off but with a lot more attitude and mayhem to it. Although it had no connection nor any link with the hit Disney/Pixar movie of whatsoever, but the idea of having the human world and the plastic world co-existing together made it an interesting twist. Basically, Army Men is all about war against the Green the Tan Army battling together in a fictional plastic world. Both nations are in conflict for many years, waging wars amongst themselves and melting every last plastic souls within range. We see the Green Army as the good side and the Tan Army as the evil side, the so-called most notorious legion even far more superior than the Nazis.

The Green Army is being led around by Colonel Grimm, a sad-looking gruff man who people claims never to have seen him smile or laugh before. Sergeant Hawk, Sarge for short, is Grimm's most promising soldier and the main character of the Army Men series. Though his physique changed from time to time but Sarge isdefinitely one of the coolest hero ever to be made (From plastic). Then, you have General Plastro, a psychotic but a failing leader of the Tan army who is never good with his actions more than his words. So there are many more characters produced in the course of the series and yet, 3DO had fail to let the audience realize that this is an incredible game and it's one of its kind.

First and foremost, I would like to stress out the key element that made Army Men a really cool game- the storyline. It is a universe of imagination, filled with fantastic setups like the gardens, bathrooms, bedrooms, toyshops and many more. I always thought having toys battling with each other on these awesome locales seem like the greatest fantasy for a toy lover like myself to witness. I mean, come on, I'm pretty sure some of you had experiences with toys from the past and doing stuff like a Batman figure duking out with The Joker, the Ninja Turtles kicking The Shredder's sorry ass, and the Autobots smashing the bits out of Megatron and his clan, etc. And at one point, you wish these toys would come to life, and all you have to do is to sit down on your most comfortable couch and let your toys do the fighting and dramas for you.

The Bravo Dudes

As weird as it may sound for most people, I am a HUGE fan of the Army Men series and I just love playing all their games. I have a big collection of their games and one part of my wish list is to obtain ALL of the Army Men games starting from the PC version to the PS1 and finally the PS2. I really had a great time playing them all from the very day it was first released and it just made me cry for more. So after the Y2K ended, my prayers were answered. Sequels started pouring in dramatically from all ports alike and everyone had lost count because it was blooming like there's no tomorrow.

Unfortunately, that tomorrow never did come. In 2003, the 3DO Company filed for chapter eleven bankruptcy and declared themselves "f**ked". And thus, the 3DO games, including Heroes and especially Army Men, were dissolved. I was crushed and heartbroken when I heard the news. But as pitiful as it was, I had a feeling that this would come. I knew that one day 3DO will make a huge loss of profit and would start wondering to themselves why are they losing so much money after all the advertising and games they made. If I were in front of them, I would raise both of my arms high up front, give an angry look and point both middle fingers at them. After all these years, I still don't understand why 3DO did the same mistakes over and over again, even though both the press and the public had been complaining about it for so long. I'm referring to its gameplay. Almost 95% of the Army Men series suffer from probably the most awful, the most abysmal, the most lousiest, the most terrible and the most ugliest control schemes ever to put into a game. It sucks so badly, not even a child can handle a child-rated game. It sickens me to think after all the bad reviews given from all over the world, why 3DO didn't take the initiative to improve it? I mean gosh man, are they mentally retarded or something? Did they ever pass their programming lessons? Or better yet, do they know anything about making a video game? Ha! I guess they deserve to be bankrupt. Dumb ass!!

And that's not all. The graphics is the second worst thing about it. But however, I have no complain when it comes to the cutscenes. What's a video game without it's in-between cutscenes and as a one point awarded by me, it really looks good. The graphics are smooth, razor-sharp detailed and it looks surprisingly good that they should turn it into a cartoon series. But alas, 3DO had done it again. After those beautiful cutscenes, you will of course be playing the missions but problem is, the graphics of the overall gameplay looks awfully terrible, ugly and disgusting. Not only the environments were crappy but the character designs were the most appalling thing even a kid from a seven-year old drawing contest can do a better job. The PS1 games didn't look so bad due to it's hardware capabilities but when it switched to the PS2 and XBOX, physically nothing has changed. So WTF man?!! The whole 3DO company truly has an IQ of -5. That is officially "mentally retarded". To make it even more worser than worse, most games like Air Attack and Sarge's Heroes had no reasonable checkpoints. So if you die, you have to start a difficult mission all over again. So how do you expect to play a game when both the graphics and the gameplay are not even in average form? I guess that's why they call themselves 3DO. It stands for "ThRee-tarded Dumb-f**king 'Omosexuals!"

It's really really sad. Army Men was an amazing concept, a terrific universe for the whole family. The artwork is there, the cutscenes were quirky but fabulous, the sound effects were decent and the voice acting was life-like. They even got Jim Cummings (Responsible for voices like Disney's Pete, Darkwing Duck, Negaduck, Tigger, Winnie The Pooh, etc.) to lend his voice for Sarge, Plastro, Grimm and lots more. But allow me to stretch this again, the gameplay and the (In-game) graphics suck horribly. It makes you wonder why 3DO are such retarded developers who can't even make a decent video game for the kids?!! It just do not comprehend in terms of logic. I truly enjoy their games a lot because of its storyline, the cinematic cutscenes and the world that they created but it's difficult to fully appreciate it when it's in this extreme condition.

Real Babe. Plastic Doll

I was really hoping for an Army Men game to appear once more for the PSP or the Nintendo DS but after what they did with Sarge's War and Major Malfunction, all hope is lost. Their latest game, Major Malfunction was another terrible game too, even for a PS2 game. Like I said, 3DO is..I mean was one retarded company. Only a miracle can happen...like Syphon Filter. The first game was excellent but the following sequels were such disappointment. But the Dark Mirror game really revived the entire series, so here's hoping the next time Army Men make their next appearance, it will 150% better than ALL Army Men games combine.

Things That I Noticed After Greg Kasavin's Departure

As you all know, Gamespot's Editor-In-Chief Greg Kasavin left the company in January 2007 and over the years he has contributed a lot of things for both Gamespot and the gaming industry. I really and truly enjoy watching all his video reviews up until now. But after he left, I noticed a few things that's been bugging me for quite some time:

All the latest Video Reviews have NO more rating system at the end.

Majority of the new games have been rated lower than before.

The site becomes a lil' bit duller.

Hey, I'm just saying it. Maybe I'm just imagining it but seriously, WHY THERE ARE NO MORE RATINGS AT THE END OF EVERY NEW VIDEO REVIEWS?!! The videos are so lame and boring without it. Naked's more like it. I hope whoever's in charge will look into it ASAP (But on the good side, C&C 3: Tiberium Wars is great. Nice work, Greg! Wish you were still here).

Thank God It's Over

I just received one of the most amazing news on a Tuesday evening two days ago. I passed the most hideous subject ever to infest into a student's mind and manipulate our brains in so many ways. What am I talking about? I'm referring to a subject called Quantitative Methods for Business & IT.

This subject (QM for short) has been haunting me for almost three years because it's such an incredibly stupid and terrible piece of crap. I failed horribly the first time and I have to take it again, and it took the faculties a year for me to retake it again. In case you're wondering, QM is a business math which consist of everything that has nothing to do with what I want to fulfill. It contain numbers, figures, shapes, and all kinds of garbage which can corrupt one's mind. God, I hate math!!!

I've always hated math ever since my primary years. I was in a private school and they had a very lousy education system which was why I had trouble with my numerical skills during my youth. I struggled almost every day coz the teachers would give you a stack of homework to do and if you couldn't finish it, they would physically give you a tight slap. It was no joke I'm telling you. That left me crippled for life and it was one of those things where nothing could've been done.

The first QM lectures were hell. We had a blur-cased lecturer who didn't have any clue in what was taught there. He was unsure of the syllabus, made lots of errors and he just suck terribly. As a result, I failed miserably. My retake was different. This new lecturer definitely knows her thing but she was too good, she gave us tons of work. But having said that, she was 100 times better than the previous retard Her teachings helped me improve my knowledge of QM and I was surely ready for the final exam.

It was tough come to think of it. The exam consist of two sections; Section A requires you to answer 'em all whereas section B answer only two out of four. The retake really helped a lot, which made the exam easier than the previous. And so I passed, and I'm happy for it. But nevertheless, I still (Forever and always will) hate math! It's an ugly invention and only a moron would appreciate it.

...Finally!

I finally own an XBOX360!! I still couldn't believe it!!! My eyes are still glittering brightly by just staring at the amazing console. It was definitely a dream come true!!

I initially planned to purchase a black Nintendo DS Lite without the intention of buying an XBOX 360 at that point, but my dad, who followed me to the mall, suggested me to purchase either a PS3 or the 360. I only had enough money to buy a DS at the time and without any hints or further action, my dad agreed to buy me an XBOX360. It was kinda strange though because it didn't take him any persuation of whatsoever to buy the console and usually I had to influence him into buying it, but I thank God for giving me this beautiful gift which I know many gamers are eager to have em'.

I got the limited edition which consist of an extra controller, two games (N3 and Project Gotham Racer 3) and extra three games; TMNT, FIFA 07 and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2. I don't play sports games but the FIFA 07 is for my brother. I actually wanted to buy Gears of War not Ghost Recon 2 but my dad didn't allow me coz it's "too violent and too gory". Sigh! Parents! Like the things they see in CNN are not violent.

That's it for now. Thanks for reading, and now will you excuse me, i got some buttons to mash on the XBOX360!

My Experience with The T-Veronica Virus

I just completed Resident Evil- Code: Veronica X for the Gamecube a few minutes ago and good god, obtaining an A ranking is really hard! Of coz, this is my first time completing it (Although I have done it so in the PS2 version) but wow man, it's really hard.

LOoOk Intoo My Eyessz...

I finished the game within 7:18:49, saved 10 times with no retries. As a result, I got a C ranking. Pretty proud of myself 8). As any cautious gamer I got help from a guide book by Bradygames. Really helpful (Thanks Dan Birlew!). I did everything the book ask me to do to achieve an A ranking. but I was distracted by the cutscenes and credits so I wasn't be able to complete Code: Veronica X less than 4:29:59. Silly me. But other than that, I had no problem at all following all requirements...except SAVING THE GAME!!!

In order to achieve A ranking, you must not save your game at all cost throughout the game, except in the middle portion which doesn't count as a save. But even then, that's CRAZY!!! You can actually save or retry once but that's totally insane. I don't think I have the patience or the time to do that. I had no problem when it comes to refraining from using First Aid Sprays and giving the medicine to the sore loser but you must dedicate your time to play it if you wanna finish it less than the criteria given. I know it's possible but it scares me. I mean, I had to load my save a couple of times after getting slaughtered by Hunters, Bandersnatches, Nosferatu and the big blob of dunk who was once Alexia. Perfection and determination are important in Code: Veronica X, and I need to improve it.

The author in Bradygames completed his game in 3:57:35 with no saves or retries. That's amazing! Some day I will get an A ranking. Some day I will unlock the Grenade Launcher. And someday, I will finish the game according to the ranking criteria. Watch me bleed as I play Resident Evil- Code: Veronica X once more.

A Chapter Unfolds

Wassup,

This is my first blog (after so many years in Gamespot :P) and I'm just gonna talk briefly and nicely.

Basically I'm an avid video game player and I've been playing it all my life. I love it as much as life itself and it's amazing how fast it grows from time to time. From the Akira era till the PC era and now the DVD era where there are so many ports to choose from and I still can't figure out which consoles to purchase first. But after months of deep thoughts, I've decided to buy an XBOX360 first. I really dig the games they're currently selling right now and it just keeps getting better and better! And in my point of view, the 360 graphics looks sharper than the PS3, but Sony's playthingy does have it's benefits such as the PS1 game downloads, nice light & shadow graphics as well as cool games that's on it's way to stores.

College life is really hitting me like a ton of bricks. That is why I have come up with a solution in relieving stress: PLAY LOT'S OF GAMES!!!

As you can see, my Now Playing list has 10 games, meaning that I'm playing these games simultaneously. I don't really play most of 'em but what I do is I'd switch games whenever I feel like it. Right now, I'm playing Final Fantasy VIII the most. Honestly, I never thought I'd be playing this "strange" game and I kept avoiding it ever since it arrived from the late 90's. But after seeing the number of sales it made according to www.wikipedia.org, I sighed tirelessly and decided to give it a shot...and boy was I dazzled and mesmerised! It's really addictive and fun. I tried looking for the PS1 version but since the only place you can buy a PS1 game is in eBay, I bought the PC version. The controls are fine but the experience was breathtaking. Can't stop staring at Rinoa Heartilly. Sigh!

Made In Japan

Alright, that's all for now. Thanks for listening (Or reading for that fact) and hope to see you soon.

And to the one who calls himself Mr. Greg Kasavin...goodbye and good luck. Will miss terribly and miserably. You're like an inspiration man. Take good care!

Wish You Were Here

Psykho
