Seriously though I do agree that it isn't a proven AAA franchise but considering that its the top franchise on a console made by a proven developer I think you could easily argue that it is.

Personally I'm going to wait for some of those games to come out and get some reviews before I drop $600 on a PS3. But hey, thats just me.

EDIT: And am I the only person who was completely underwhelmed by those screenshots?

well your second point while valid alot of PS2 owners did have to buy 2nd and 3rd consoles and I do truely believe that boosted sales (while not huge) but still significant amount...the 360 has to fix its hardware issues now if it wants to stay competitive
