sounds more like the original SA which was loaded with customization, a diverse world, and plenty of fun extras to allow the world to be your playground.
GTAIV was a great story and game, but it felt more linear to me than SA and the lack of customization was disappointing. Also, the more "mature" story and vibe of the game was a nice change of pace but i'm glad to see Rockstar return to the sadistic open sandbox of SA. And they do it in a more mature way than Saints Row (which i do appreciate for their insanity though - very different)
I seriously can't wait - GTA V is shaping up to be the best GTA yet !!!!
is this that downloadable XBL/PSN game that i heard about a while back? If so it looks much improved from when it was first announced. it actually looks like it could be decent although the fighting itself didn't look too great!! (hopefully he just sucked)
also, i do hope they include the characters from the game at least as unlockables or something. would love to play as crixus!
jesus. the 720 sounds like it's going to virtually identical PS4 as far as architecture/power.
Unless they come out with a mind blowing revolution for gaming (NOT kinect 2.0, and not just a copy of the touchscreen like Wii U and now PS4's touch pad) or make XBL gold free or in some way score some unbelievable new exclusive IPs, i'm going PS4 this gen. I thought about picking up a PS3 in recent years but now I'm sold on PS4.
Xbox 720 announcement day = the day that Microsoft's gaming division died.
Has everyone noticed that Microsoft fans (like me) are all saying with every single rumor article that they are going PS4 this time? And there have been no Microsoft dedicated fans to come to the rescue. Every article has just been bad news (this isn't super bad but it's a drag no backwards compatibility and since it's so similar to PS4 then whats the point in going Xbox and dealing with always on and a $500 console or $300 with a fricken subscription???)
this will very deeply hurt sales for microsoft. PS4 looks fantastic and all sources are saying the two system are more or less on par with each other so if Xbox always has to be connected, there will be a lot of people who can't play !!! What if internet craps out? What if the router isn't working? What if....YOU DONT HAVE INTERNET??
PS4 will take the cake if this is true.
It will certainly sway my decision...i don't have the best internet connection all the time and that shouldn't stop me from playing my console.
@abHS4L88 @incrediblmullet agreed. one only need look at Sega and the quality of their games once they dropped out of the hardware race....
And to the remark about peripherals...let's say Nintendo dropped out this gen and never made the Wii U. Instead, they developed software for the next Xbox. Let's assume the next xbox will have a very standard controller. But a game Nintendo was developing required a Wii U Gamepad type of controller, and perhaps Wii mote type controllers as well. So Nintendo makes this game, and the "peripherals" (different control options that work with the next xbox). In order to play this $60 game, you also need to buy an $80 (just for arguments sake, could be more of less) Wii U Gamepad type of controller. No one would do that. . . do you see where the flaw is in your argument incrediblmullet?
The comment about playing Smash bros on your playstation I assume has to do with power, and for this entire generation (360, PS3, Wii) I have been saying the same thing. I would've loved to play Zelda on my Xbox, because of sheer power. The game could be bigger, more graphically appealing, etc.
But now that it's clear that Wii U is underpowered compared to PS4, does this same issue truly arise again?
I'm not so sure. Because quite honestly, there is an INCREDIBLE difference graphically between PS3 and Wii. But between Wii U and PS4, at this stage anyway, I'm not so sure that the differences are so drastic to warrant those kinds of wishful thinking anymore...
Equally important, I'm very curious to see how expensive Sony releases the PS4 to be. If they release it competitively priced with the Wii U (i.e $350, even $400) than what I don't understand is simply why Nintendo chose to remain at a lower level of hardware again. If Sony is capable of releasing a more powerful machine, regardless of a 6" touch screen gamepad or not, than really Nintendo should have been able to release an equally powerful machine. But if the PS4 releases at $500, $600, well then you can bet your bottom dollar that Nintendo's Wii U will look a lot more attractive, just like the Wii did despite it's less powerful interior, and in that situation than it will remain sensical for Nintendo to have released the Wii U with the power it has.
I should really have written this in a forum or something. Sorry! :)
@thequickshooter nothing wrong with them making a quick buck...temple run is one of the best iOS games and clearly this is going to be very similar. and with a familiar character like sonic, could be cool. They are a business after all.
But i'm with you. I'm wanting Adventure 3. Hopefully the game they are working on for Wii U is Adventure 3 or something similar. I'm glad Sega was figuring it out the past two main games though. Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations give me hope for the future of Sonic.
@Kickable rly? i never read any of the books or comics anything that you may have seen that in, simply played the main console games. It was said in AC3 once you find out Haytham is a templar not an assassin as they led you to believe at first, i remember a conversation between modern day characters that said Haytham was probably an assassin that defected...thats why he used the hidden blades and ran/climbed around and used eagle vision like an assassin.
