The amount of ignorance people have just blows me away some times.

Also the hate indie games get around here is staggering. You guys really love your short, corridor, AAA budget shooters don't you?

Could not have said it better. In my opinion, Rime despite being an indie game looked better than almost every single AAA game shown in gamescom and E3 combined.

No, people hate Microsoft because instead of using their money in boosting their first party developers they bribe third party developers for exclusives. This tactic is very effective since most popular IPs belong to third party developers, however this is very expensive and because of that Microsoft can not keep doing this for a whole generation. Thats exactly why half-way through a console generation Microsoft just stops giving xbox exclusives aside from the typical Halo/Forza/Fable garbage.

Or it could reform itself into a modern democratic state and join the EU in the future like other ex-soviet states did, an example being Poland. So yeah go ahead and ask people from Poland whether they prefer being part of Russia or the EU, I think we both know almost everyone there (if not everyone) will choose the EU over Russia without a second thought.

Record number of people turned out to vote, and I knew the vote would go this way Crimea is basically Russian so is much of the eastern provinces, but the US and the west won't accept it because ot doesn't suit their needs.

I'll bet money some of the eastern provinces will demand succession now especially after the trouble the western neo-nazis where causing over the last few weeks.

So it doesn't sound fishy to you that even though only 60% of the Crimean population is Russian, 93% voted to join Russia?

Just think of it this way in the Crimea region less than 10% of the people can even speak the Ukrainian language.

The Tartars are difficult, they where originally from the Crimean Khanate who run extensive slave raids into Russia as Russia gained power they crushed them and their Ottoman masters to stop the raids, and then Stalin did what Stalin did best.

To be honest I don't think the west who have mishandled this massively will or can do anything more than blow hot air.

It doesnt change the fact that only 60% of the population would avtually vote for joining Russia

This referendum is a joke. Its so bad it reminds me to the recent elections in North Korea where Kim Jong Un got 100% of the votes. Do most people in Crimea want to be part of Russia? Yes. But this result is so inflated its completly obvious its rigged. 40% of the people in Crimea are not Russian and wouldnt support being annexed by Russia, therefore its fairly obvious that if the referendum was actually legit the results wouldnt have turned out like this. This stinks of fraud so much its laughable.

The fact that the options were:

Choice 1: Join Russia

Choice 2: Join Russia

This is simply not true.

I understand Western and Eu Media is spinning it that way, but that doesn't make it the case.

America and the EU is worried that Russia is growing, and they're making allies. Before Ukraine filled with riots, Russia had offered to help them in their crisis, followed by the EU (after the USA badgered them to do it).

They will do anything to limit Russia's power, because there's still discrimination and intolerance from the cold war.

Dont get me wrong, I support a referendum, but not like this. Withdraw the russian soldiers from Crimea and have OSCE observers make sure the referendum isnt rigged. If the referendum had been done this way the west would actually take it more seriously.

Russian soldiers are in Crimea; because the Ukrainian government was ordering sniper teams to execute their own citizens, simply for protesting the government.

Can you imagine what sort of genocide would occur if they had voted to join Russia? Crimea needed, and requested Russia's assistance in protecting the citizens of Crimea, they needed a defense against the Ukrainian regime.

And it was reported that the sniper attacks were a false flag event set up by Russia to create chaos. That much is known. Its pretty obvious why the Russian soldiers were there and it was to make sure this referendum would be fraudulent.

So for the love of god stop exaggerating

Also there is no anti-Russia discrimination, most pro-western people dont hate Russians but Putin, a guy who according to internation observers won the last elections in Russia by fraud.

There is nothing wrong with cover system. Problem is regen health and when used with cover system makes games quite easy . I dont know why that became popular

I Disagree, the cover system is pure crap, in fact cover based third person shooters are the worst garbage thats has ever came from the video game industry. Why? The reason is simple. Shooters are not just about shooting, they are about moving as well and the thing is that cover based shooters hampers your movement to an incredible degree and moving is part of the fun in shooters and removing that part also removes a great part of the fun in shooters. In fact if you think about it cover systems turn third person shooters literally into a peakaboo game and thats the pure definition of boredom. But thats not the only problem cover based third person shooters have also made level design go backwards a lot becacuse as far as I know most these games have incredibly linear maps and what truly shameful is the fact that several the games of the 90s have actually much more complex maps than these kind of game, in fact all these chest high walls being placed randomly makes the maps in these games looks incredibly unnatural and sometimes outright stupid. Sure cover system makes shooters more realistic but we all know realism does not always make the game better, in fact in this case it makes the game a lot worse.

Ugh, more anime crap with immature, corny storylines.

Keep it in the Nintendo and Microsoft fields. We don't want immature games to defile the quality, mature games in the playstation library.

LOL Like Sony doesn't have any "anime crap!" They have more of that than Nintendo and M$.

What is a "mature" game to you?

Those anime crap games usually aren't localized to western countries.

Mature games like Naughty Dog games. Getting real tired of the "I'm a super soldier destined to save the universe from something really bad" plots. How young and childish do you have to be to enjoy plots like that?

And this game doesnt need a great plot because its main appeal is gameplay like mega man games, because you know, gameplay is in the first place what makes videogames unique. Im getting really tired of video games that focus more on being a movie than an actual game, like the last of us.

And by the way if you think of it, an actual mature person should care about the quality of the product itself and not whether its mature or not, people that really care about "maturity" are the very definition of insecure people.

Off by 22k in units. Anything else Sony Fan?????

300k in a market you dominate aint that important and shows that Japan is a dead stick in the long run.

How does it prove its dead? if anything its a really big improvement over the ps3 launch. I think some people truly have some really crazy expectations of Japan, like a million in the first two days after launch, not even the ps2 managed to get those numbers.

It might not be an amazing number but they its still good or atleast it had much better sales than the PS3 which only sold 88k in Japan in the same time period. And on top of that according to neogaf the inital shipment was of 350k which means they sold nearly the entire of the initial shipment already and it also means that reaching the amazing 650k sales the ps2 did on launch was not only impossible due to the current state of the japanese console market but it also was physically impossible since there is not enough stock in the first place. So yeah overall I say they are pretty solid numbers.

@Stevo_the_gamer said:

Surprising, indeed. I'm curious to see the software chart and see what games they purchased considering the library is heavily western oriented.

From what I have been reading in neogaf, the best selling games were Yakuza:Ishin, Battlefield 4 and Killzone Shadowfall
