This is good for competition, hopefully it keeps going back and forth between them to keep competition alive. And Sony needs a little motivation, they've been getting arrogant lately (again). I do plan to get a X1 eventually but for now my PS4 is enough since I don't have time to play much anyways. I like that the X1 is getting more BC support, this is something I wish Sony would have done.
@dembryants: Ah I got you. It does seem like a noticeable bump. Graphics should be considerably sharper, guess we have to wait and see since games do still have to run on standard PS4, but still should be noticeable difference.
I don't mind so long as the consoles are Backwards-compatible, I hate having to keep an old box or worse yet having to re-buy the same games to play in my new system. Smaller refresh cycles mean better hardware, faster changes for what the market demands.
Looking for a reason to get back to gaming but this was kind of disappointing. I've felt PS3 was a better system than PS4, more creative new IPs with PS3. I wonder what Miyazaki is working on..
