heres a poll that was posted at beyond3d.com. this site generally doesn't have any immature kiddies posting, and everyone is fairly honest and mature (ie, not many trolls/fanboys). http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=41013

RSX can do HDR + AA, but not full HDR. there are different levels of HDR lighting. Ninja Theory created a workaround called NAO32 which simulates full HDR and Heavenly Sword uses 4xAA.

yeah... if you like both, get both. NGS doesn't come out for almost 2 months. surely you can save up another 50 bucks by then.

there are different levels of HDR lighting. the ps3 can do FP10 HDR + AA, but it can't do FP16 HDR + AA. Ninja Theory made up a workaround called NAO32 which imitates full HDR and can also run AA. Heavenly Sword will use NAO32 + 4xAA.

[QUOTE="soccerplayer8"]

3/4 hd movies were sold to bluray 1/4 hd-dvd/ for march source qj.net ps3

Bgrngod

That's great an all, but it's still less then 1% of the entire market for home movie sales. Guess where that other 99% market share is.......

Blu-Ray doesn't have to only beat HD-DVD, it has to compete with regular DVD too. Just because one HD format leads the HD Market doesn't guarantee it will succeed in the long run. Who knows.. we may see a third, and superior, format crop up in the next 2 years or so that blows away both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD.

blu-ray does not have to compete with dvd, blu-ray has to compete with hd-dvd. dvd is the current generation format, blu-ray and hd-dvd are competing to be the next generation format. it will be several years before blu-ray beats dvd in sales. dvd is mainstream and it also took several years for it to be where its at now.

Huge decline in quality when it goes from CGI sequences to the actual in game shots.

Not impressed. If anything disappointed.

Ultra-Alue
thats because lower-rez videos make it look bad. look at the videos at gametrailers.com. Lair is truly an amazing game. it may not be the best looking game (but it still looks VERY good) but its technically a very good game.

just like DVD, there will be some bad transfers, and there will be some great transfers. its all up to the studios in how well they transfer the film to BD. earlier Blu-Ray movies also won't look as good. just like DVD, it will get better and better. there are some VERY good blu-ray movies out already. like The Prestige (no grain AT ALL and very clean), Casino Royale, Black Hawk Down, The Departed, Crank, Monster House, The Covenant, Ice Age... i could go on and on. again, simply put, not every blu-ray movie will look good; its up to the studios.
