[QUOTE="freediro"][QUOTE="Ultra-Alue"]

[QUOTE="sxs_alex"]damn she looks a lot hotter with makeup. this game will be AAA for sure. yeah you guys heard it. this is the first time i ever hype up a game. _Tobli_

You can't be serious. This game looks subpar at best.

seriously!? yeah your crazy and a fool, maybe even trolling, this game will be amzing i see it as God of War for the PS3, and will give us an idea of what GOW III will look like.

I agree with ultra. These devs have never made a good game as far as i know, and there must be a reason why MS didn't want it.

lol... you guys make me laugh. there has been very little shown of HS. and if you think this game looks "subpar at best" by whats been shown so far, you've gotta be kidding me. and i don't see how you can come to these conclusions considering HOW much little has been shown.

Blu-ray and/or HD-DVD should not be compared to DVD. when DVD first came out, it was in a similar situation... players/movies were expensive and there wasn't as much selection. DVD is completely mainstream now, and there are probably close to (if not) billions of DVD players in homes worldwide to date. blu-ray is a competing format to be the next mainstream or the next format, as DVD did before. currently, standalone blu-ray players/burners and the media itself are too expensive for it to be mainstream. not a lot of people own HDTV's either. including PS3's, there are probably only ~5m blu-ray owners worldwide. compare that to the billions of DVD owners worldwide and theres your answer as to why DVD is outselling blu-ray. with the prices of HDTV's coming down, more and more people are buying them. there is also more HD content available. in a few years, blu-ray/HDTV's may be mainstream, and thats when well start seeing blu-ray outselling DVD. i do agree that the jump from DVD to blu-ray is not as noticeable as the jump from VHS to DVD. but because DVD is not bad by any means, how much better can you get? especially blu-ray... you can't really get much better. theres pretty much no limits with blu-ray because it supports VC-1 and MPEG4, which are the new compression methods that are far superior to MPEG2 (what DVD uses, and what most people consider to be a horrible compression method) and the space is pretty much limitless. you can also fit lossless audio tracks which is another advantage over DVD. the newer blu-ray movies look excellent, and i can clearly see a difference compared to DVD, such as The Prestige. Blu-ray movies will most likely look better as the years go on, just as DVD's did. earlier DVD's look noticeably worse than some of the DVD's today. media is also not only used for movies/games, but storage as well. blu-ray can and will have a maximum capacity of about 200GB last i checked. how much more space will you need? blu-ray is not going to become mainstream and takeover DVD overnight... it will take years for this to happen.

it looks really easy and cool for video encoding noob like me

avc 480p 1024kbps sterieo/128 kbps is the codec you guys are using

legalize3
i use AVC for everything. i use 480p for videos that have a resolution of less than 480 and if they're HD videos, ill use the 720p profile. i use 2-pass mode because i'm a quality nut. i also edit the profile and use some of the advanced settings, like i try to match the video and audio bitrate to the source and i enable 2 threads because i have a dual core processor.

i'm curious, why does ps3 video 9 output to formats like HD MOV, FLV, MKV and "VideoWizard"? i thought the ps3 only supported MPEG4/AVC and MPEG2? i tried playing an MKV video and it didnt work.

hehe, i was thinking you were maybe using a different version. 2.15 just came out a few days ago. i actually haven't used the older versions, so thats probably why there was confusion.

i have no idea what you just said... ??? 2 pass mode does 2 passes. why are all of them 1-pass? i'm kind of tired, but you really didn't make any sense there. and i think you misunderstand me when i said the codec matters. i don't mean the codec you choose the output video will be. i meant the codec of the source video matters in determining encoding time. different codecs are more efficient at compressing data. therefore, say an XVID video of the same length will be a lot smaller than an MPEG2 video.
