DVD's will look exactly the same as digital SD broadcasts since they are the same resolution.

VHS outsold DVD by a large margin it's first few years as well.  So true with the horse and the car, the cruise ship and the airplane, the slide rule and the calculator, etc.

That's exactly my point. Would you rather watch TV broadcasts in HD or SD? Same with media. Would you rather watch DVD or HD-DVD/Bluray? It's the exact same thing.

If I didn't already have a PS3, there is no way I would drop a ton of cash on a HD media player.... I would THINK about getting the HD-DVD drive for my 360, but I would not spend more than $200 on an HD player. Even though I own a 50" 1080P Samsung DLP set, I am fine with DVD on it.

Are you fine with regular SD digital cable broadcasts too, which are the same resolution as DVD's (480i)?

:lol: Where did you get that BS, porn is embracing blu ray last i heard, longer movies with better sound and incase you haven't noticed nearly 1 million ps3's were sold here in 2 weeks and the biggest movie industries are supporting blu ray, just cause a few small industries support hd dvd dosen't mean it's popular. If you wanna see how well hd dvd is doing here compared to blu ray look at sales and industry support and you will see blu ray is a clear winner
