Probably the same reason some fanboys cite sales. These things are machines, just like your toaster oven. I could care less what company makes what, as long as it fills the role I purchased it for.

I found that in australia, the federal minimum wage is AUD$13.47, or approximately
11.7054 USD
Guess what? The federal minimum wage in the US is $5.15. I live in Oregon which has one of the highest state minimum wages and we get 7.80 USD. So yeah, we make less in the US and they know we can't afford as much as people in other countries with higher minimum wages.
Uh....if you have minimum wage job you probably shouldn't be spending your free time playing video games.
