The only thing I would really want now is HD. As it is my eyes sometimes bleed when playing the Wii on a 56" 1080p.

Depends on the size of your TV and the viewing distance. I have a 56" 1080p and we sit about 7 to 6 feet from it. We can definitely notice.

[QUOTE="PikaPichu"]I doubt it. Even with after the price drop the 360 is still $100 less than the PS3. The Elite is still comparably priced because it includes an HDMI cable whereas the PS3 doesn't. PikaPichu

That's not much considering an HDMI cable is about $7.00

It is?! Where?? I was looking at Best Buy's website and the cheapest cable there was around $50!

Best Buy is rediculously overpriced. I buy all my A/V cables at Monoprice and it was recommended by home theater gurus at AVS.

Sweetness. Thanks for the link! Is there any difference between those and the expensive ones at Best Buy? Cheap HDMI cables FTW!

No, no difference at all. I have used their HDMI cables, component cables, HDMI to DVI cables, and even their subwoofer cables for my setup and I've had zero problems. They are very good quality and thick.

Problem for Sony is most people are going to Best Buy or Circuit City.

It's not Sony's fault most consumers are uneducated and make poor decisions. Most of those same people think Bose is good quality sound equipment too.

Actually Nintendo was the first to incorporate the "elite" version of a system with the original NES. In 1985 Nintendo released two versions, one was $249 and included a robot that played certain games with you, performing certain tasks on its own and a light gun and two games. The other version was $199 and did not come with the robot or light gun, but did include Super Mario Brothers.

[QUOTE="Shion512"]HD-DVD has only sold 900K movies. Innovazero2000

No, HD-DVD had hit a Million in April, shortly after Blu-ray did... and I believe outsold it in may and june software wise...

No, HD-DVD sales did not match or exceed Bluray movie sales in May or June. In fact, it hasn't come close in a long time.

[QUOTE="drewtwo99"][QUOTE="deluxemando"]

The wii supports 1080p. I wont post a link to prove this to you because it is very old new that with the help of sony's technology, the wii supports HD.

deluxemando

Hahahaha! Legendary!!!

I seem to be at a loss as to why people find that amusing...explain?

http://www.freewebs.com/wii1080p/

That's upscaled. You can do the same thing with an Atari 2600 via upscaling and it's no more 1080p than the Wii is. I'm amazed at what I read on this board sometimes.

Everybody always tries to tear down the one who's the most successful... it's called jealousy.

PS. When the Wii has 5 times the userbase of the 360 and the PS3 in the next few years, you can bank it will have all the games as well ;)

jedigemini

So why didn't the PS2 have "all the games"?
