7GB is stored for system use. A 20GB will have 12-13GB available and I believe my 60GB has 53 available :) I assume it is the same for all variations.

Grab an elite for sure :) You can actually get the Spring Xbox 360 bundle (which includes Halo 3:ODST and Forza 3) for $300 right now + MANY retailers are offering a $50 gift card with purchase. I think Best Buy, Target, and Toys'r'us are doing that right now - You can get some great deals :)

The batteries in the wireless controllers last about 35-45 hours. I only have had to replace mine once a month or so. Yes, you'll have to spend $75-100 on a wireless adapter if you don't want to run a cable for Xbox live. You'll also kick yourself in the butt very soon if you don't buy the version with the HDD - being able to download arcade titles and install games is great :) It saves the game DVD's from getting scratched up at all.

As noted, call 1-800-4MY-Xbox and ask for a Xbox Hard drive Data Transfer Kit. I think the category I selected was accessories on the phone. It is, however, no longer free - but much cheaper than you'll find on ebay or any other website. It's $12.95, shipping included. I ordered one the week of Christmas and it took just over a week to get here.

If you bought the retail package 120GB, it should have came with a transfer kit. Check that you didn't miss it :)

The call does connect to a foreign speaker, but it wasn't too bad. It took about 5 minutes to order. They told me it would take 3-4 weeks, but it really took about 7 shipping days - they even used Fedex overnight which surprised me because I didn't have to pay for shipping :)

You can call Microsoft (1-800-4MY-XBOX) and ask for a Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer kit - I did this a couple of weeks ago and it was $13 and took just over a week to receive. Kits on ebay are going for $50 or more. Retail 120GB's come with one, but otherwise you'll have to phone microsoft. I think i went through technical support and then accessories.

Elite systems don't come with a transfer kit. I think microsoft was offering a free kit with purchase of an Elite system via an online form + mailing it, but that has expired as far as I know. You'll have to call and order one

I recently did this myself, although I went 20GB to the 60GB since it was half the price. I'm unsure about the gamertag issue - I know that you can use a memory unit to transfer your gamertag to other systems.

As for transferring the files from 20GB to a bigger Hard drive, there are two ways. If you just want to keep game saves, etc. you can use a Memory Unit. If you'd like to transfer everything, including gamer tag, you can purchase a "Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer kit" for around $13 from microsoft. This will wipe the 20GB, but will transfer EVERYTHING to the new Hard Drive :) Note that if you purchase a retail 120GB, the transfer kit comes included for free.

Unless you use a different gamertag, it should still be the same :)

Star Wars Battlefront 3 WAS in development, but the company (I think pandemic?) went out of business. They posted some screenshots of the planned UI and such - rumors have been coming up lately that development has started again by Lucas Arts, but we can only hope :) I'd love one on the 360

You can only purchase Games On Demand with a credit card. Fable 2 is the exception and may be bought via "Episodes" (There is 1 free and 4 bought with 800 points each). Sadly, there is no rent option :(

Yeah, the auto renewal can be a pain if you've put card info on your system for something besides xbox live. You can now cancel the auto-renew through xbox.com account management if you want to :)
