You can kind of understand the story in Halo 3, but you'll definately benefit and understand more by at least searching google for the story of the first two.

You would think Microsoft would have been more prepared for the Halo 3 online rush..

Does the game have a lot of scratches, or is it brand new? Just keep trying what the person mentioned above... Also, if you're expecting to play Splinter Cell DA co-op on the same system like you could the last one, you can't. Only the original Xbox version has co-op offline. :(

Sounds like it may be.. there seem to be quite a few people having the same issue.. Hoping it doesn't happen to me.. unless i can return it then for a brand new one.

It will definitelylose a big number of it's player base, but i'm sure LOTS of people are in your situation and will still play Halo 2. :)

Quite a few good co-op games on the arcade :) I can think of these - Doom, Marathon, Bomberman Live, Lumines, Assault Heroes, Gauntlet, Aegis Wing... that's all i can think of at the moment, but most games will tell you 1-2 players offline / online when you look at their description :)

Quite a few games that can last you the weekend if you haven't played them already... Gears of War, Rainbow Six, Bioshock, Medal of Honor (Subpar in my opinion, but it's there) Command and Conquer, Skate, etc. The list goes on and on.. just started to get into the Fall rush of games.

All games have 1000 "Gamer Points" but some have more due to downloadable content packs. For offline-only games, you'll probably rack up about 500-600 points in the first play through. I got about 500 for Gears in two play throughs (Hardcore). Online games usually have half or more of their achievements online-only.

Also be sure to grab an extended warranty for the Xbox if you can afford it. I've had mine for a year without any issues, but you never know. I don't have any experience with the wireless adapter either, but i assume it works well if it doesn't have to transmit through many walls.

Ouch.. :(

Depends, really. I think the fastest i've seen an xbox return is about 9 or 10 days, and some have taken more than a month. Best to get it sent in ASAP if you're positive it's RRoD and not fixable by yourself.

I'd say that they are worth buying now. I bought mine last December (It was Manu date of 9/27 i believe) and i've played it a couple hours every day - Haven't had a single issue with it. Just make sure you grab one of the newer elites / pro's / halo edition for the newer heat sinks and such. And definately get the warranty, you never know. It may seem like tons of people have problems, but the one's with problems are usually the only ones that bother to post.
