Gamefly is decent. I live in michigan and it takes 2-3 days to get my game, and about 2 days for them to get it once i ship it back. They have shipping centers in CA and PA. However, i just cancelled after about a year. Of the ~30 games i rented, 6 of them arrived so scratched that i couldn't even load them up, so i have to report it and wait another 3-4 days for a new copy to arrive, IF they have it in stock.

I queued up Mass Effect and it came this wednesday. Took it out of the package and it had deep gashes and it was partly cracked. Keep in mind this game came out 2 days before i got it. So, i had to report it unplayable and i'm done with gamefly.

It's a great service, but be ready for 15-25% of your games being scratched and unplayable.. especially with RPG games. I had a few that worked, but they'd load up with entirely white textures. Getting a new copy / unscratched fixed the issue.

Edit: If there's a game you REALLY want, remove all other games from your queue and you'll eventually get the game shipped to you if you don't mind waiting a day or two. I've had 10+ games on my list before and they ship the last one on the list which can be aggrevating but oh well.

720p is usually better for shooters, fast moving games, etc. because it will draw the visuals faster. 1080i can look better, but it's more suited to slow paced games. That being said, i play 1080i and can't see a pixel of difference from playing 720p.

Well, often the solution to the frame rate issues every bit (Mine was freezing every 30 seconds or so) is to hold the Left Button + Right Button (NOT the triggers) from the time you launch the game until the start screen comes up. That took care of all the frame rate issues i had.. it's worth a shot if you haven't tried it yet.

The game is pretty decent, but i wouldn't recommend it as a buy or even a rental. It's a stripped down oblivion. It's quite laggy, the world is pretty though. The inventory system is difficult to use and the blood looks like dark ketchup coming out in a straight line 1 foot infront of the body. You can have a shield, but there's also no block button.

I'd recommend Eternal Sonata and waiting for Mass Effect. Maybe try blue dragon (although it's a bit too stretched out)

Well, 2008/09 is when every cable company is required to go all digital and if you can't receive the signal, you'll need to get a free adapter from the company. They might be confusing that with this?

I would stay away from Ebay.. you're better off buying from Best buy / EB Games, etc. when they offer package deals (I.e. - free game with purchase or a gift card)

The newer 360's do have extra heat sinks, and the very latest one's (Manufactured in august or later i think) have a smaller power consumption. Microsoft bases their warranty on the Manufacture date if you don't have a reciept - 1 year covers all problems, 3 years for the 3-ring's only.

Edit: You can check the manufactured date by flipping up the tab on the box. It will be in day-month-year format. Also, i've had my xbox for over a year with no issues at all.

After a few hours of playing, some games do this sadly. To fix it, hold down the Left + Right buttons (not triggers) from the moment the copyright text shows up until the game asks you to press start. Press start and then let go of the buttons - should work just fine without freezing now. :) (This clears the game cache basically)

I've heard setting the Xbox to 480p while playing split screen will fix that... because Halo 3 downconverts the Resolution while playing split-screen.

There's really no difference, but you'll miss out on the 100GP acheivement that you get by rescueing them all. :)

As long as they're quick to fix it, it's not that bad. Just quite frustrating for those of us who want to do something other than Halo 3.
