Super Smash Bros can't even muster a AAA. Now if you want a system with the best fighters get a PS2.
Funny, despite SSBM lacking AAA here in GS, it outsold every fighting game last gen. Hell, it even outsold Halo: CE. Now what does that tell you?
50 cent bulletproof sold through the roof. Now what does that tell you?So are we comparing a mediocre game to a fighting game that has one of the largest communities in the genre? Talk about grasping at straws. Guess we can't celebrate a game's success because it's going to be compared to 50 cent.
I was just using the same logic as you. I mean did you not use the sales figures of a game to make it seem superior to another game? i'm just trying to get it out there that sales don't mean a thing when it comes to the quality of a game. And yet that has no bearing on Smash itself since Smash is a very high quality game. Just because it didn't recieve an AAA doesn't mean it's lacking in it's complexity and depth. People see that, bought an assload of copies and it now has one of the largest followings in the fighting game community. That's the point I'm trying to get across.
Besides, lets face it, the stupid "50 cent" argument is retarded and has been done to death. On a side note, the sales for that game dropped off rather quickly. Smash, however, was practically the system seller for the GC.
I've never doubted the quality of super smash bros melee, it's one of my favoriite games for the gamecube. The point i'm trying to make is that sales =/= quality.
