"Here's something to make you feel old: the Halo franchise celebrates its 15th anniversary this week."

@Blk_Mage_Ctype: What the others said. And plz enough with the ME3 ending already. It's been over 4 years and it's becoming tiresome. Just let it go and move on.

Ok this dlc phenomenon has been the norm for some time now. I can get behind a game announcing a dlc 6 months or a year later to add some story/content to it epecially if said content is substantial(Witcher 3, DS 3). Not my preferable policy but at least i can understand it given the age we live.

But announcing all planned dlcs 2 weeks BEFORE the game is even released? It's like these people are telling us: "Ok, we've already created a fair amount of content for the game but you know what? F^$K it, we'll just strip a percentage of it and put it on dlc packs and we gonna charge you an extra 40(+)$ for it. Sounds like a plan? Ok now go and buy it."

And the sad thing is that people will STILL buy it. Go figure.

@kingnothing47: Wow a multimillion corporation is run by people who's only initiative is to make more money? My, what an observation!!!! I'm shocked!

Seriously though ALL of these companies want to make money first and foremost. That's nothing new and it's the reality whether or not some people are refusing to see this. What we as gamers hope is that in the process we get to be lucky to get some good games to play.

Now, as long as people continue to act like sheep and support their shaddy bussines plans(season passes, day 1 dlcs, unfinished games, pre-orders of 100$+ deluxe editions etc) they will keep doing what they do. So imo the consumers/gamers/fanboys are the first to be held responsible for the current situation the gaming industry is in and not the developers/publishers.

@Xristophoros: "Taking a wait and see approach seems best with any nintendo product so you don't get burned."

Umm that's the approach you should take with ANY product in this industry. Not just the Nintendo ones.

@scooby_dooo: Having witnessed the exceptional work of some of these modders firsthand, i would take an extensively modded game like Skyrim or Fallout 4 on my 1080 pc over a 'native' 4k resolution console version any day.

@Chaz456: True, but they wouldn't have sold the millions of hardware devices they have(Wii U, 3DS, peripherals etc.). These multibillion corporations have entire dividions of analysts working to determine these things(sales, promotional strategies, demogarphics). Trust me, if they have come to the conclusion that your solution is more profitable by now, they would have shifted their focus already and wouldn't have gone forward with a new console(Switch).

Gotta say i'm impressed with the flexibility even if it is what we were kinda expected. Big plus for me that it also will include a traditional controller. This thing seems to have something for everyone, although one big selling point(for me at least) will be the game library.
