[QUOTE="Cali3350"]N64 was most certainly the more powerful machine between it and the PS1. Just because you guys enjoyed the PS1 more doesnt change that fact. Sony has the history of the weakest console (and for the 3rd gen in a row the weakest console is dominating).zero_snake99

o_O wasnt the ps1 capable of rendering more polys at a constant fps?

the n64 and playstation both had 150,000 polygon per second capabilities with 'ALL' their graphical capabilities utilised. if the n64s graphical tricks were reduced to the playstations it could run at 600,000 polygons per second.

comparing realistic multiformat games, shadowman ran in 640x480 on the n64 without a hitch, the ps1 version ran at 320x240 and was virtually unplayable, the world is not enough was the same.

silicon knights stated when producing eternal darkness originally n64 they could not run it on the ps1.

For some reason the AI seemed alot better in Halo 1 than Halo 2.

You sure you've actually played it? The bridge sequence alone was **** hectic and awesome.

Salamun Bridge?

I don't remember the name, it's been a while. It's when you get the Grenade launcher and you have to lower the gate. It's was just fun as hell and got the blood pumping.

It's impressive in terms of graphics and the amount of ememies on screen and explosions around you, but it doesn't come close to matching the cinematic quality of the initial trailer imo.

Killzone 2 delivered in terms of graphics, but look back at that E3 2005 trailer at those cinematic quality action sequences that put you right in the middle of a war. That's what I was most excited about, but the actual Killzone 2 plays like any other generic fps and did not come close to living up to that vision.

I hated that weird texture pop-in in Halo 2's graphics.

I live with my gf and she has beaten Oot, is a champ at SSB, and rivals me at Perfect Dark 64.

[QUOTE="JordanElek"] People say that after EVERY positive Wii game review. "Oh, Super Mario Galaxy won Game of the Year? One game makes no difference, they still hate the Wii." Now, who knows how many good reviews later (somebody will probably provide the number, or already has), one more still doesn't make a difference?

JordanElek

I didn't say that one game makes no difference. I said it was a start in the right direction, and that I hope it continues, but having said that, the Virtua Tennis Wii review the other day was terrible. I'm certainly not ready to pop the champagne yet.

But wasn't the Mario Galaxy GotY a start in the right direction? This is what I mean. It seems like no matter how many good reviews GS gives to Wii games, people see them as isolated incidents that do little or nothing to ward off the perception of a GS anti-Nintendo bias.

Yeah and inbetween Galaxy and this game there has been a plethora of late Wii reviews, poor Wii reviews, or Wii reviews that were missed altogether. Gamespot has brought the perception of anti-Nintendo bias on themselves, and it's going to take a new trend of punctual, well written and consistent reviews in order to remedy that.
