if i'm not mistaken, the reason why the gameplay in dj icon was different is because thq owned the license to the wrestling moves featured in dj vendetta and dj ffny. in order to make the sequel as good as the first two games, they're going to have to work hard to attain the license from thq, then make a dj game that has similar gameplay to dj vendetta, but using the fight night round 4 engine.

Syaz1
no THQ did not have the license for wrestling moves the have the rights to the names of them and def jam did not use any specific names to their moves really so that isnt true. it would be another thing if EA put John Cena or The Undertaker in Def Jam, but they do not have a patent on wrestling moves that can be performed. but i do agree they will need to return to their roots in order to make a great game again much like FFNY.

Def Jam FFNY is one of my all-time favorite fighters i played that game ALOT!!!! its a different kind of fighting game but to me i put it up there with tekken 3 and mortal kombat (on the genesis) as one of my favorite fighting games.

I think the 360's doing well not necessarily because MS made the right decisions, but because Sony made the wrong ones. If they'd put Blu-ray off for PS4 they would've had the PS3 out at the same time as the 360, and at a similar price... but with free online. Would've been over for MS. Now don't get me wrong, the 360 is alright. I wouldn't call it an amazing console by any stretch though. It lets publishers rip you off with DLC, it makes you scared to play for fear of red rings, and there isn't a great variety of GOOD games. Most "good" games on it are shooters of some sort.istuffedsunny
ur right istuffedsunny, 360 doesnt bring much new to the table and isnt anything spectacular n heck ive heard many ppl say that its a "suped up xbox 1" i also agree that most of the games that ppl say are the "best" 360 titles are some sort of shooter but i enjoy playing my 360, but i also like playing the other 2 all 3 are fun its just MS pays off ppl to advertise for their console which is a smart move

I personally think the 360 has done excellent. Will it become the PS2 in terms of sales...probably not, but it's done well despite some of you who complain about the RROD. Yes it probably sucks, but you get another one...don't worry.

Anyways, I've owned a 360 since launch and wouldn't trade it for anything. I did buy a PS3 for BD capability, but sold it as my roommate had a standalone and found no need for the PS3 anymore. While I will NEVER pick any cross-platform game for the PS3 over the 360, the 360 could be much more dominant if it had (and of course in my opinion):

Slot Drive

Bluetooth

Ability to replace the HDD to any size

But hey, thats why MS will put out another one in a few years to 'fix' all of the 'issues'...I use 'fix' and 'issues' loosely because they would not seem an issue if PS3 didn't exist, they are just some things that benefited the PS3's release about a year later.

Again, will it become the PS2 of this generation of consoles...I doubt it. But for being a new entry into this generation of gaming it's done quite well.

And to all of you who will say the Wii dominates this generation, I'm sorry...I just don't put it in the same class as the 360 and PS3. Is it a bad console...no, but I simply do not see how you can compare it with the other two.

boltzcom

i think ur right, the 360 wouldnt have so many "problems" if the ps3 hadnt been such a power house n yes i also agree the 360 wont be as good sales wise as the ps2, but the wii may not even reach 145 mill. so thats fine.

and lastly i kinda agree kinda dont with ur last statement about the wii, yes the first thing u think about when u say the wii is how family-oriented it is and how innovative it is but i think that once they get some more "hardcore" games then yes u can put it in the same category as ps3 and 360, the ps3 n 360 have better graphics but again a true gamer knows that looks arent everything and are only an added plus.

and the wii has some stellar looking titles as well as some games that seem like they would be best fit for the 360 (madworld, conduit, no more heroes, etc.) not to mention some developers (EA, 2k, Activision) have said that they want to make the wii a bigger priority and make sure that they make more games for it and make sure they arent just "wii friendly" (meaning casual only im assuming) so give it a little time, about a few months possibly the end of 09, and the wii will look like a console to be taken more seriously.

i know the xbox 360 has its share of problems and all and it is not out-selling the wii but even with all that in mind the xbox 360 still remains the console of choice for pure gamers. comparisons draw for the 360 to PS2, now i know thats steep especially since ps2 was the highest selling console of all-time but honestly the 360 does kind of seem like this generations ps2 in terms of being the console of choice and being a developer's favorite. so what do u guys think? im jumping the gun here or the 360 is truly a great console that will be remembered for greatness?

well i think that once june comes around it will be safe to say that all three consoles will have an exclusive number one shooter.

Xbox 360-Halo (or gears of war)

PS3-Killzone (or resistance)

Wii-Conduit

i know its too early to say if the conduit will be their top shooter or if it will even be a good game but it looks awesome. so who do u think has the best shooter? 360? PS3? or will it be the wii in june?
