Can anyone reccomend a good TV show (/shows)?

I really like Boston Legal, House, Weeds, Dexter, etc., though right now I might be looking for something more like Veronica Mars (went through the third season again... still can't believe they cancelled the show :().

Thanks!

The wii is in fact not as "strong" as the other two consoles, so some stuff does have to be taken away. However the main reason IMO a lot of multiplat games suck on the wii is that they make two versions: the "next gen" version and the ps2 + wii version, so instead of an attempt to bring the wii closer to the other consoles, or at least build on its strengths instead (motion control and IR), we get the PS2 version in the best case, or PS2 + tacked on waggle in the worst.

[QUOTE="Vasc"]ally agree that nintendo kind of hates the wii... i think they hate nintendo actually... If m galaxy ended as game of the year was because... not even they could do much about it!! mcknightvt

I'm not usually one to defend Gamespot against accusations of anti-Nintendo bias, but to their credit, Zelda: OoT is one of their few perfect-scored games, and they have given many Nintendo first and second party games (Metroid Prime, Paper Mario, Goldeneye, Donkey Kong 64, Wind Waker, etc) the accolades they deserved. Still, they are being a bit hard on the Wii...

IMO, they do hate nintendo, but only from the current generation (wii); they hate the wii because they think nintendo abandoned hard core gamers (honestly, sometimes I think all they care about is graphics).

If I buy a wii points card, do I still need to give my address and everything?

I can't buy them online because of billing-addess region issues...

Two notes:

1) I remember having read somewhere that Reggie said they are intentionally keeping some games up their sleeve in case there is a draught in original wii games;

2) Look how many sites have frequent updates about new VC games. No chance that'd happen if they released everything at once, is there? they wouldn't be able to keep the interest in the service, which means a. people would buy less games in general, b. people wouldn't hear about games they haven't played in their first iteration, and wouldn't buy them on the VC.

Also, what are you talking about? there are a TON of great VC games out now... and I'm sure their great, but some of the games you mentioned (Looney Toons Basketball?) wouldn't necessarilly be on the top of their priorities, even back in its day Nintendo barely awknowledged Conker's Bad Fur Day due to its "mature-oriented nature", and now they couldn't (or wouldn't) release it (along with the Banjo Kazooie's) due to Rare being bought buy microsoft, and even though Super Mario Allstars wasn't (and most probably won't) be released as a collection, all of its games have already been released to the Virtual Console. Pokemon Stadium would suck without a GB connection, and according to wikipedia, Kirby Super Star is slated for release in NA's virtual console. Also, what exactly is Mario Tennis 2? Mario Power Tennis, if that's what you're referring to, is a Cube game - the VC doesn't have GCN games.

But ranting sure is fun, isn't it?

I'm seriously considering getting a DS, but there are a couple of things i'm not sure about.

First of all, would you reccomend a DS in general? It's a cool system, and in many instances I've argued about it being better than the PSP (which I'm not even considering), but there doesn't appear to be a very wide selection of good games for the system, especially at this point in its lifecycle. Which brings us to #2...

Won't a successor be announced soon? The DS was back in '04, and both the GBA and GBC had a lifecycle of ~3 years, and since the DS is now going into its 4th year... it kinda makes sense for a DS2 or something to be anounced in July. What are your thoughts?

Also, is the DS good for playing GBA games? One of the reasons I got the idea was recently "rediscovering" my GBA, and realizing both that handhelds are fun and that the GBA's screen drives me insane. Seriously, I don't get how I could deal with the dimness and lack of backlight (which are sorta the same thing). You have to hold it in just the right angle to see the action, and even then there's the reflections issue. So while I can't think of anything that could go wrong, is there any problem with playing GBA games on the DS?

Thanks!
