Thanks for all the help!

Right now i think I'll start with Fire Emblem: Path of Radience, since I can get that easily and I prefer gamecube over GBA (and I understand that it's noob-friendly enough).

I might be thinking too much ahead, but if I do like it, what other RPG's are good for beginers?

This is a pretty dumb move, and honestly I don't get it, (probably has something to do with royalties for using mp3, or the body behind aac bribing nintendo,) but I've never used the wii for that anyway.

However, I love nintendo as much as the next fanboy, but like any company, they make mistakes. And as fanboys, we have to pretend to not notice stuff like region locking, lack of ethernet port, and refusal to use an HDD :P

Not sure what my point was, but the bottom line is that no company is perfect, nintendo included, and while they piss me off sometimes I wouldn't buy a 360.

absolutely love it... i wasn't 100% sure about it when I bought it, and the fact my gamecube broke was what got me to makes the purchase, but seriously, now i'm actually glad it stopped working. even if it were the same price i still would've gotten it over a 360!

I've never been a big fan of RPG's, but since that may be because I've never really given them a chance and gotten into one, I decided to "force" myself to play one. My question is, does Fire Emblem count as an RPG, or is too much TBS? I have a wii (with gamecube controllers) and a computer with a pretty modest video card (and a dreamcast, though I don't suppose that really makes much of a difference), any suggestions on which RPG to start with (if FE: PoR isn't good enough - my brother has it)?

[...]people were mad about strikers getting a 7.5 but the description of 'good' fits it, but i can see how thats unfair when a good game on another system gets an AA rating

WPBBALLER

Come on, you should realize that those descriptions don't mean sh*t. 7.5 is just about on the border between medium and mediocre nowadays.

cause gamespot hate the wii (and it's really starting to piss me off)

i can seriously imagine them adding a new negative badge to their horrendous new rating system named "wii game" (with a description something like "while this game had potential, the company behind it made the ufortunant choise of releasing it to nintendo's casual-friendly system"). i mean, that's about the only way they can explain rediculous scores such as MP3's 8.5.

and seriously, look at how many wii games they review compared to the 360.

and then, before reviewing ghost squat, new blood, zapper\links crossbow's training, and Geometry Wars: Galaxies (just some of the major wii games that "slipped past their radar", they go on to review Anubis II, pure shovelware than no one would have even looked at anyway.

obviously just another attempt to color the wii as a casual system with no good games.

i know that this has been said before, but seriously, they should just stop reviewing wii games altogether. they already lost their credibility in the eyes of anyone who has a wii anyway... the only purpose at this point is to make xbox 360 fanboys happy.

I think Disaster: Day of Crisis might have FPS elements, not really sure on that tho... we don't now a lot about the game yet.

However, a "proper" fps like the ones you mention above are very unlike nintendo, as they tend to focus on more "unique" experiences (for better or force worse), and if not that then new iterations of classic nintendo franchises (like zelda).
