i'd go with 64 bit but keep in mind, when going from 32 bit to 64 bit....you're gonna have to do a clean install and reinstall all your programs

i upgraded from 8800 gt to a gtx 260 and it was a noticable increase , but if you play at a low res. like 1280 stick with the 8800

and if you checked any sites you'd notice that

www.tomshardware.com , www.anandtech.com

i also went from 8800GT --> GTX 260 in about a year i'll get a DX11 card

just so you know, not all XPS 420s have the 425W power supply. some have a 375W. it depends on the video card they ship with the computer. mine came with a 375W and a 8800GT. i got a gtx 260 and replaced the power supply too. maybe it woulda worked without it, but i got a 630W in case any future card i get needs a lot of power.

[QUOTE="rock_solid"][QUOTE="Sparticus247"]As far as performance whise go your rig is strong so performance won't be a big issue. You can speed up boot times by going into msconfig and using all your cpu cores at startup instead of the defaulted 1.Sparticus247

i'm pretty sure windows uses all the cores by default...and that setting is just to LIMIT to less cores if you want to....for troubleshooting purposes

Well in both Vista nad 7 it didn't use all the cores by default. I had to manually set that up.

see how this article has an "update" added to it. a lot of people thought changing that setting helps....but it doesn't really http://lifehacker.com/396904/make-vista-use-multiple-cores-to-speed-boot-time
