@arc_salvo @dr_jashugan @roosteraxe1 I was really just talking trash about 8. ME was probably the worst OS Micrsoft's released. Either way 8 is still garbage if you ask me. Vista was pretty broken, but it's still better than 8. Of course it seems every even numbered version of Windows is just beta testing for the real, odd numbered versions anyway. Microsoft doesn't really beta-test WIndows before release. It costs them too much money and they'd rather charge us for that privilage by releasing crap in between the working versions of Windows. Then they iron out all the things people hated about the even version and charge everyone full price for the upgrade to the real version of that operating system in the odd version. From a business standpoint, it's genious. From a customer standpoint... well let's just say I have no more faith in Microsoft as a company. In my eyes they're just greedy bastards looking for every possible way to nickel and dime people to death. Like most big corporations and politicians ; )

I think if they released these bi-annually instead they'd sell a lot more. Releasing a new entry every year just seems forced. Especially with a series that deals in such heavy-handed storytelling. To give Ubisoft credit, they've managed to innovate more between entries than most annual franchises do. Still, forcing a yearly release on games like this seems like a surefire way to get people to stop caring about it. A little extra time to build hype and perfect an awesome game can only help publishers. Maybe instead of releasing the same rehashed game every year, publishers could try to...gasp...release different games between installments. We could definitely use some new blood in games right now. Trying new IP between bi-annual releases of established franchises seems to me like a good way to balance the need for profit, with the need for innovation.

Will there be a feature in the update that upgrades Windows 8 to Windows 7? This is the worst OS I've ever dealt with! ME was better! Nothing works right and everything you might want to do is hidden in a sub-menu you need to right click to access. Did they even run tests with users to find out if people would enjoy this POS? I doubt it. Much like the revamped 360 hud, it seems like 8 was a case of MS going "you don't like it? Well it's better so stfu and buy it!" Idiots. On a plus side, I hear sales of Windows 7 are up.

@lostn It's not just JRPGs that suffer from this. I've been a silent protagonist prophesized to save the world by running errands for everyone and their grandmother in far too many Western RPGs. While 98% of JRPGs follow the story of the teenage amnesiac who saves the world with mysterious past and powers, the few original JRPGs that make it to this side of the globe are far more creative than what developers are churning out here. Personally, I think the genre as a whole needs a huge injection of creativity. With what current and next gen consoles are capable of, there's so much possibility for truly unique and immersive worlds and characters that just weren't possible before. It seems that once technology caught up to the genre's potential, developer's creativity shrunk.

@uglypinkmoose @SavoyPrime Microsoft payed a bunch of money for exclusivity on Vespiria and several other JRPGs at the time in North America. It was their sad attempt to win people over in Japan. The fact is though, Japan doesn't care as much about FPSs and that's the majority of what the 360 has going for it. As a result, games like Lost Odyssey and ToV won't be getting PS3 ports. At least in the states. I'd definitely repurchase Vespiria for PS3 though. Especially since I hear there's a new character and extra content on the PS3 version (not to mention my 360 is now used solely to play Minecraft and I'm very sick of that game).

@GameBeaten @comb5 Now if only we could get that port on this side of the globe. I own ToV on 360, but I'd rather have it on my PS3

This would be freaking awesome! I'd love to no longer have to dust off the Gamecube to play this awesome game. I never played the Wii sequel, so adding on top of rereleasing the original is even more awesome. The sequel is the only Tales game I don't own at present.

@toddze This is definitely not an issue of liberals vs. conservatives. More Republicans are speaking our against video games than Democrats, but both sides are ignorantly speaking our on the subject. I do agree that government in general needs to stop looking at inanimate objects as the cause for violent behavior and start holding people accountable.

@granola_goodnes True. By wording it that way gamers aren't encouraged to defend the fact that violent games do not cause violent behavior. We are instead asked to point out the good things about violent games specifically. Really narrows down the topic to make us all seem like raving whiners.

The fact is, you can claim anything about anything and find a tone of "experts" to back up your claim to it. I do give her credit for allowing the other side a chance to retort. Not enough people are willing to look at both sides of this issue. To the wrong people (that being the mentally unstable), I can certainly see video games being a negative influence. I'm not saying these people would live normal, non-violent lives without video games, but I can see violent games adding to their instability. That doen't make games evil. Nor are games the catylist to violent behavior. If the games weren't there, books, movies, newpapers and various other forms of media would still be influencing these people. Even without all these external stimuli, these sick individuals would still have violent tendencies. I don't believe normal, healthy people become more violent due to video game exposure. In fact I personally feel video games decrease stress and aggression and if I had the money and connections I'm sure I could find "experts" to back that up.
