@talkcasual @roosteraxe1 @flipmode19888 I looked. They rounded her features a little bit. That's really it. Looks like a slightly younger version of the first pic
@flipmode19888 @talkcasual That's what I'm saying. You've really got to be trying hard not to at least see some resemblance. Even bone structure is only slightly different. Everything's only slightly different. It's like they photo-shopped her into Ellie
They moved the eyes apart a little, made the mouth a little smaller and rounded out the nose slightly, but there's definitely a strong resemblance. The people who aren't seeing it must have diffeiculties spotting two related people. Ellie could easily be Ellen's slightly younger sister. As for people saying she needs to get over herself, it's not like she's suing Naught Dog or running a campaign against them. People asked her opinion and she gave it. Don't blame her for being a little miffed. She's been working hard on mo-cap and voicework for Beyond and before that's even out there's a character in another game that looks just like her. Now everyone's asking about The Last of Us instead of the game she's working on. As for Ellie looking like Ashley Johnson, I don't see it. At all.
@LittleSaintGoph @roosteraxe1 So, it's not the main protagonist's 1st mate? Just some random side story? You're right, 1st mates have NOTHING to do with thier captains. Anyway, if the game isn't even finished yet, regardless of how many teams they have, they should be working on making the game! Not making add-ons to an unfinished product. The point of DLC was originally to expand on the game and keep people interested after the end credits have rolled. Sort of extra incentive not to sell their copy. It was also a chance to include things that didn't make the cut for the release window of a game and to play with new ideas for the game. NOT to squeeze extra money out of people by selling them something that could've been included in the main game. Sure it's a diferent character. I've played side stories as different characters in games before. Without having to pay extra for that "privilage". That doesn't mean Ubisoft should be working on ways to milk players' money from them before the actual game is complete. If it's purposefully excluded from the main game so they can sell it as DLC, that's shady business. Of course, Ubisoft's proven in the last 7 or 8 years that they run a shady business, so there you have it.
It's just wrong to be releasing details of dlc for a game that's not even gonna be out for 6 months. If you have that much time to create this new content, maybe you should be focusing on polishing the game more, or adding this content to the game. It's kind of pathetic to be worrying about nickel and diming us on dlc before the game is even finished. This just tells me they're intentional releasing an incomplete game to squeeze more money out of us. No thanks.
@Cloud_imperium By porting it to current gen, they stand to make a lot more money off of the game. There's already an installed fanbase of millions on ps3 and 360. Next gen systems aren't going to see those numbers for a few years at least. Yes that means spending a bit more to port it, but it also means making the game available to millions more people and having a much higher profit potential
This is great news! I don't plan to buy a PS4 for at least a year or two after launch. I never trust first edition consoles. They tend to have a higher chance of failure since the manufacturers haven't worked the bugs out yet. Thief was one of the few games that made me consider changing my mind about that. Assuming they can pull it off dumbing down the graphics a bit and maybe reworking AI I am definitely stoked. I loved the last game and feel it still holds up today as a great game. If I can get that same thrill on a less pretty version of the new game, I'm ok with that.
I keep reading Xbone fanboys mentioning how the PS4 is a boring system. It's going to have the majority of features the Xbone does. Besides live tv and the kinect features. They're extremely similar. Yes the PS4 is supposedly more powerful, but the fact of the matter is, at this point, we're not gonna notice that difference in raw power much. Both systems supposedly have arcitechture similar to a pc, both have around 8gb of RAM and both have multi-core processors more than sufficiant to run multiple functions at a time. Both will also have some form of cloud-type service for online purposes and both are starting with a 500gb hdd. The BS restrictions were the main thing keeping these systems apart. Of course I still remember the 4 RRODed 360s I've dealt with and the nearly 1 year of XBL that M$ made me eat it on because they don't know how to design hardware. Thus, they've already lost me as a customer because I don't trust them anymore. It's an easy desicion for me based on that. Still, from a technical standpoint, there isn't a right or wrong system. It's more a matter of whose exclusives you prefer. I think Sony just makes better games personally.
