Before I start, I realize probably half of you are going to say, "Dude, we can't decide for you, do what you want." Okay, with that out of the way, here is my dilemma! I know that, without a doubt, I will be buying Mafia II. But, there are two series that I have been wanting to start playing. That would be The Force Unleashed Series and Kane and Lynch. Being that Star Wars and Kane & Lynch both have sequels, i'd obviously like to start the series from game one. I believe I can purchase both games for around a total of $40.00 at Gamestop or any other retail store. I figure, I can start and finish each game, along with also completing Mafia II. Come Christmas time, I could ask for SW: FU II and K&L II and they'd probably be somewhat down in price, who knows?

So, i'm asking that you cast your vote in the poll. This is simply just to see what the majority group would do and would somewhat have an effect on my final decision. I really don't know whether or not I should save the 40 bucks and just wait for Mafia II, or if I should go along with my plan of starting the two series that i've really been wanting to get into and being able to continue both stories in a couple of months? What would YOU do?

Is there anyone on here that actually likes the series?I've watched gameplay from the first and second game and i've read what the story is about. The whole thing looks and seems pretty cool, but it doesn't get very high praise. Anyone here think the game is underrated, or atleast thinks is worth giving a shot? I'd really like to buy the first game for about 20 bucks and if I like it, go onto play the second. But, if the reviews stand true and it's really not worth playing then I may just pass it up or rent it..

Mostly because no one knows... And your asking for an answer that suites you and chances are you'll keep looking until someone says "Yes its a direct sequel". People state what they know which is as you can imagine pretty vague.JohnF111
Or...i'm just looking for a "No it's not a sequel" or a "Yes it is a sequel." And if noone knows, then that's fine. But, if someone DOES know, then yes, you're correct sir, that is what i'm looking for.

Hey, I haven't asked the question yet because it's been posted all over, but each time I click to see people's responses I never get the answer i'm looking for. So, here it goes. Is Mafia II any continuation from the first Mafia? The answers i've been seeing are like this one: "The city is the same", "Some characters are the same", "Some things that happened in the previous game could affect the next game." Answers like this are what i'm getting, but I want to know whether or not playing the first game is crucial in order to understand the second installment? Thank you for the answers!

I kind of have the same problem as you. For me, it's more that the story line is really long and I just get tired of playing it. For example, Dragon Age and Fallout. Both are great games, but I just get so overwhelmed with playing such a long game that I decide to put it down and pick up a new one.

That sucks man. My first ps3 was a launch and I never had a problem with it. I wound up selling it because I was desperate for cash at the time. Months later I bought a refurbished one and am still using it to this day. Haven't had a problem with either PS3 yet. *Knocks on wood*

I would guess that a new system will probably be out in 3-4 years. But, i'm sure they will continue to make games for the PS3 way beyond that. This is merely a guess, so don't take my word for it.

Mine would have to be Uncharted. I'm about to start playing Uncharted 2, so i'm sure that will easily become my new favorite action/adventure.
