No I agree, eventually it had to happen. I kind of figured they would be charging for online play, so I wasn't surprised when they announced it. Plus is still a good deal. At least it's cheaper than a Gold account from Xbox. I don't know what they're thinking with that $60 crap. The service isn't crap...that price sure is though.

This is some very good news. Carmack is a tech guy through and through, and this is right up his alley. PLEASE optimize it for consoles some day!

@denhoffi I play online, that's all I need from it. I can live without the free games knowing that I can look at Youtube and play online without paying extra for it. That's all gonna change when I eventually get a PS4 though. As far as playing online anyway.

Uh it completely falls into the reason for me not wanting the console. Understand this...No game that I've seen for Wii-U interests me, hence I will not be buying one. Mario games do not interest me anymore. I don't care how highly rated they are. I'm sure they're great games, but I don't have any desire to play them.

No, not just Bethesda games. Any game at all. There isn't one game on that console third or first party wise that has made me want to go and buy the console.

Slow and steady in this market keeps you behind the times and unappealing to an important fanbase. And Nintendo has done that before, the Super NES.

That one criticism is a HUGE problem though. It's the reason why I never really thought to buy a Wii-U. It didn't have any games that I cared about.

I hope Nintendo comes to their senses, and delivers a nice haymaker with releasing an "NES 2" system that's on the bleeding edge of gaming technology. Before they collapse and become a handheld only developer (you have to admit, that 3DS has some good stuff on it) they need to do that.
