I read the entire article what the heck was said about the roles? They didn't seem to say. All they said was that they were surprised at the backlash, and no details.
Anyway, I didn't think about this until now, but it would have been really interesting if the gender roles were reversed for the 2 main Characters. Adult Female with a little boy.
Honestly, my attitude toward all of this is they're just boobs, move forward. Or for your example she's just rubbing the staff against herself, who cares? That's just me though. I can understand if someone is offended. I get it, it can make others a little uncomfortable. I don't have to be offended it by it though, it's just a drawing.
I'm assuming your comment was directed at me. Forgive me if I'm wrong about that. My answer:
I'm human aren't I? Whether I'm male or not is irrelevant. I'm a part of the same species and I don't find the content (any of it) in this game sexist.
There was a chracter in another Vanillaware game (Muramasa Blade) that had gigantic breasts as well. No mention of that in the review. Maybe she wasn't shown very much? I like everything about this game, especially the game play. There's nothing wrong with a little bit lewdness. I find it funny. Hell, Symphony of the Night had a picture of a lady showing her bare ass....a rather large picture at that.
Well I've watched game play and it looks like it's exactly like the old Dungeons and Dragons Beat'em ups that came out in the 90's (Shadow Over Mystara and Tower of Doom). Which is a good thing because those games are great, and some or 1 of the designers of those old games worked on this one as well. So my hopes are still high. Just hate those blobs/fog enemies. That's only my opinion though, some people may like that type of thing.
