@bahamut1283 It will be "backwards compatible" in that you will be able to stream old PS3 titles through the console using Gakai I imagine (think how the Onlive service works, or Netflix but with videogames instead of just movies). As far as the software and hardware required for the console to run and play physical PS3 blu-ray game discs, that's unknown.
I hear there are spaceships you can purchase in the game. I wonder if there will be any Space combat? No one has reallly done that yet, not to this type of scale anyway, mixed in with first person shooting. The Star Wars Battlefront games did it on a much smaller scale, and Halo Reach sorta did it as well...just one part during the campaign.
I hope...and this WILL NOT HAPPEN....but I hope the game developers will give us the option of playing with a mouse and keyboard in the next generation of consoles for EVERY GAME. The PS3 had that, but the developers rarely gave us the option in their games.
@Sushiglutton Buying a game before seeing a review is the consumer's fault. Research, then make a choice....and one more thing, good lord just calm down. Making a big deal out of nothing.
Something tells me this is going to be a PS4 exclusive/killer app. People have been dying to play this game (me included) and it would be a pretty good selling point for the next Playstation.
I have to agree that the GUI isn't all that intuitive. I mean something as simple as checking up on how far long a download has come shouldn't be as hard to do as it is with the 360. It's like pulling teeth. You have to go to "account" which makes no sense and keep pressing the download to see how much it has to go before it's finished. I'm pretty good with electronics and it confuses me. No I don't want to download it again! I want to see how far long it is! Oh I have to hit download again to do that...yeah that makes sense. They just need a "downloads" section for crying out loud.
