They're heEEEeeerrreee!!!

We made it. We're in Eugene. Got here last Saturday, unpaked in a hurry and got to partying  Moslty unpacked, thanks to my friends that stayed for 2, 3, and some even longer to help out. It's different around here, full of college kids, hippies and a few red-necks thrown in to keep things interesting. I don't have pictures of the house yet because I'm being lazy, but I'll put them up real soon for all you curious buggers out there. I go back to Portland tomorrow to help my sister in law move into our other house. Just what I wanted to do, spend another weekend moving... again  Oh well, it's family, and she helped us move.

Beat Assassins Creed a few days ago, after only playing for a week. Pretty good. I'll write a review about it sometime after I play it again. Then I bought Pirates of the Caribiean Dead Mans Chest on Blueray and sort of watched it here and there, but man, what a great picture those Bluerays put out. Once you go Blueray, you'll never want to see a standard DVD again.

Also, BLM, NC, FB, IG, you'll be pleased to know that I am one step closer... I bought CoD4 earlier tonight, but I haven't played it yet because I fell asleep and just now woke up, but I'm going back to bed in a minute anyways :P. So, now I need another couch for the game room, another, sweeter, bigger tv (I ALMOST bought one tonight at BB) and I'll move the PS3 to the game room and hook up with you guys on-line.

That's it for now, thanks for reading,

sc

PS3, my birthday, and bye for now!

Well, I got my PS3, 80gb w/ Motorstorm. Pretty fun game. I also got Assassins Creed, really cool game. The running and climbing is a little too easy for my taste though. Should be a little more challanging to try and stay on a wall, oh well, it's still REALLY sweet.

Anyways, this may be the last time I talk to many of you until after I move, so... bye, talk to you hopefully in a few days after I get a little more settled in at the new place. The wife and I are packing right now (and have been for the last several days) and I will be taking the PC and all my other important items (like my TV, PS3, PS2, etc)down, and packing them tomorrow.

Happy New Year if I don't talk to you guys by then, and don't forget to tell me Happy birthday, Sunday the 30th is my birthday. I'll be 31

Signing off for now,

scnut

Moving! And some words of wisdom from your friend scnut.

Well, it's getting nearer, the date for the big move from Portland Oregon to Eugene Oregon is the 29th of December, the day before my 31st birthday. That's assuming all goes well with signing this week on the new house in Eugene (which it should). If it all goes as planned, we close on the house this Friday, get the keys, and then I alone move into a big, empty house for a week... by myself. No bed, no tv, no PS2, no internet, no nothingfor a week :( . My last day at my current work is this Friday, and I told my boss I would be moved by the 15th so I can get the rest of my $10,000 bonus at the end of this month (I got half a month ago), and, I just need to be at the store in Eugene full time, no more of this back and forth every other day. It's murder on my poor 4-Runner, and me. Last month, I spent over $600 in gas, in one month, and I have put at least 6000 miles on my truck since October 12th.

After spending next week alone, I come home to Portland and my family to celebrate Christmas. I took the week of Christmas off, as I usually do. But I'll be packing for the move, so I will be scarce to GS for a while, starting now probably. When I'm at work in Eugene, I have very little time to slack off and GS like I usually do, because I'm in charge of twice the amount of people, which means twice the amount of drama  Oh well, it pays good  Can't wait until I'm all settled in down there.

I have to say, and I'm being proud here, so bear with me for a moment please (I try to be humble). But, at the age of 21 or 22, after I had been married, it was my GOAL, my one and only goal,to be in a house by the time I was 30. I achieved that goal 4 years ahead of time at 26. And I would have NEVER thought that at the age of 30, I would own 2 homes. Some advice to some of you out there that may actually care about the advice I'm about to give you:

-Set goals.

-Do everything you can to achieve those goals (without damaging someone else's life, career, family, etc), and don't give up.

-Save your money! Every penny you can, the earliest you can! By the timeI was married (at 21), I had already saved over $8000, which eventually went to a down payment on my first house. But invest wisely.

-Keep educating yourself, NEVER stop

-Don't settle for second best, EVER.

-Put your heart and soul into everything you do, it will pay off sooner or later, for most, it's later, but it will pay off.

-Be passionate about what you do, everything you do.

-There are only 2 kinds of people in this world: Givers, and Takers. That's it, only 2. Which one are you?

-Most importantly, love your family and friends.

Thanks for reading, and take care,

scnut.

wtf??

My level has been stuck at 54.04% for like 3 or 4 days? Not that I really care all that much, but what the hell? Anybody else having this problem?

A new addition to the family.

We have a new addition. Another dog. Couldn't have gotten it at the worst time  , but it wasn't my idea. Wanna hear the story? No? Too bad.

About two weeks ago, my wife goes out with some friends to a bar. I was at home watching the ninja's. They were already in bed, it was late, and I was playin some Socom. I get a phone call from my half drunk wife:

"Hello?" I say.

*semi slurred speech* "Honey, there's a realy cute puppy here that the bar tender is trying to get rid of, she's sooooo cute!"

"So?"

"I want her, she's free and soooo cute!"

"We already have a dog, we don't need another dog, especially not right now! We're moving soon! What the f***, are you out of your mind?"

"I'm taking her!"

"No, you're not. No."

"Whatever, I'll see you later."

So, she stayed the night at her friends house that night, and the next morning I get a call from her:

"I have the puppy..."

"No you don't, don't f*** with me like that." I really didn't believe her.

"Yes, I do have the puppy, she's really cuUUuute!"

"Quit joking around, you didn't get her, you know we don't want or need another dog."

Long story short, she said she wouldn't hang up until I said it was ok. So, I said "ok" (I really wanted to just get off the phone). She came home, and there it was. I couldn't believe it. I thought (more like, hoped) she was joking. But she wasn't.

Anyways, that Thursday, we came to the decision to give her back (the owner said if we changed our mind to give her back). So, Thursday night, my wife tok her back. Free at last... not so fast...

The next day I call her at home from Eugene (2 hours away) just to check in.

"I went back to get the puppy." she said.

"What? Are you serious?!"

"Yes! I was up crying last night," (I'm a real sound sleeper, so I didn't hear her  ) "and I was worried that she wouldn't go to a good home, or that the bar tender would hurt her.. blah blah blah" is all I heard from there on out

"Whatever. I'll see you tonight"

So, here we are, with a 10 week old puppy, and now everyone (including myself) is getting attached. We're potty training her, and we even named her last night, Grace. My wife took her to the vet, and got all her shots. We're not even sure what kind of dog she is. There is definatley a lot of black (or chocolate) lab, and possibly some *gulp* pit-bull. She's pretty cute, I must admit, and is very playful. She's pretty smart, already responding to her name after only a day, and usually barks or cries if she needs to go out in the middle of the night (in fact, I've taken her outside 3 times since I started writing this blog). She also gets along well with my other dog, Allie (3 years old now). She has crossed the line on occassion with Allie, but Allie puts her right into her place. Anyways, here's her picture...

In other news, we're having our house appraised on Monday, then we make an offer on this house. Click on the picture and you'll see more pictures of it. Wish us luck.

Thanks,

scnut

And it begins...

Well, if some of you have been wondering where I have been lately... very busy. I am currently traveling between Portland and Eugene Oregon every other day for my new job (same company, new location). 2 hours in the morning, and 2 1/2 hours in the evening. I met with my broker this afternoon and was pre-qualified ($325,000) to buy another house. We will be able to keep our current house and rent it out, and buy another using the equity in our current house :D Very excited about this! I will be in Eugene tomorrow for work, come home, go to my sons soccer gameSaturday morning, and then the wife and I are going back down to Eugene for the entire weekend to look at houses with a realtor. You can get a lot of house for $325,000 in Eugene. And now (here comes the boring stuff) is the perfect time to buy... NOT sell. People are getting desperate to sell their houses. The housing market has taken a huge dive (at least here on the west coast), so what was a $400,000 home now goes for $340,000 or there-abouts, and continues to drop, along with interest rates. So, we wait for the right moment... that's where I'll be for the next 3-4 days.

Bear with me for a while...

Well, as some of you know, I got the job in Eugene. This is the biggest thing I have ever had happen to me (other than my children being born). So what this means is I'll be up-rooting my family and moving 1 1/2 hours away for a minumum of 5 years (that's the commitment I gave my boss). My wife is... happy, yet upset that she has to move. She (and I) love the house that we currently live in. She is very close to her mother and sister, both of whom live within 10 minutes of us. My parents also live in the area, and we would not be close to them anymore (I don't realy care that much, I love my parents, but I needa break). So now, until my company finds a replacement for me here, I have to travel back and forth between Eugene and Portland a few times a week, starting this Friday. The other dilema we are in... since my wife loves our house so much, she doesn't want to sell it. She wants to rent it out to her brother and sister. Together, they can afford to pay our mortgage, but if we don't sell it, we have no money for a down payment for another house. Unless we take out a second mortgage or something. I don't know how all that works, but I promise by the end of the year I'll be an expert at it. I've been doing alot of research on the internet lately about renting an existing home and buying another, and I really can't get a lot of info on it. It's all mostly people's opinions. Sounds like renting is a bad idea to me. The other thing is, when you rent a house, you should rent it at a price that is 125% of your mortgage payment, and my wife only wants them to cover our current mortgage payment. Then, if we do rent it out, but not to her brother and sister, we have to deal with tenants we don't know, that could call us in the middle of the night to come repair a broken pipe, or they might not pay the rent on time (or at all), or trash the house, or whatever! Ugh, what a bind. I want to sell it and move on. My wife is just too attached I guess. The good part of renting, is that when we move back in 5, 6, or 7 years, we'll still have a home to come to, and we'll (hopefully) make BIG money on the house that we sell in Eugene. We'll have to figure this all out real soon too.

Anyways, this means that I'll have limited time on GS, so please excuse my absence while the family and I rush around trying to figure this all out.

Take care, and I'll still poke my head in every now and then to see what's going on.
