What I've Been Playing

Sorry I haven't been blogging much but I've had to focus on school for a while but this weekend I've done a lot more gaming. The two games I've been playing right now are Crysis and Call of Duty 4. They're both great games.I think I'm halfway through Crysis and I only have an hour left in Call of Duty 4. So far based on the single player game I prefer Crysis. Call of Duty 4 is really fun but I just prefer Crysis's open world. I don't mind Call of Duty 4 being linear because they do it so well but I just prefer having more freedom. At the moment I can't say much about Crsis's multiplayer because I haven't played it but CoD4's multiplayer is great. I was also in the beta so I've played about 4-5hrs of multiplayer. The first round I played on the retail version was a free for all. Everyone I was playing agains were ranked around 35-50. They made fun of me since I was only lvl 1 but I ended up when the match with a 20 point lead, so that was really fun. I can't wait to finish both of the games. I'll probably write a review for both of them soon. The next game I will be playing is Assasin's Creed. It's next on my gamefly list so it should come in soon. Anyway it's nice to finally get on gamespot again I haven't been on for a few weeks. I'll try to get another blog post up next weekend so check back soon.

Impressions on the Crysis Demo

So I've played through the Crysis demo about 5 times now and I've had fun every single time. I have to admit before playing the game I was slightly worried thatthe game would just look awesome but play just like any other shooter, but it doesn't. It's very fun. All the suit powers you have give you many choices to complete your objectives and kill your enemies. Your suit powers are armor, speed, strength, and cloak. Although that seems like a small amount of powers there are just so manyways to combine them to defeat your enemies. You can also customize your weapons. And if youdidn't already knowCrysis looks beautiful. My PC is capable at running it on full graphics and it's playable but the framerate is a little to low so I just run it at high opposed to very high and i get about 30fps. The physics in the game are also great. For example you can throw a guy through a wall of a shack and part of the shack's roof may collapse on him, or you can jump on the roof of a building and punch it open to surprise any koreans inside. So far I'm very impressed by the game and can't wait to purchase it when it is released. I've already preordered it.

Skews

Now you probably know there are four xbox 360 skews and you can probably name them too(arcade, core, premium, and elite), but doyou know what the PS3's current skew is? I think it's a 40gb ps3 with no backwards compatibility and a lower price. I'm not really sure, but my point is the PS3's skews have been more confusing than any other system, and their goal was to make it less confusing for the customer by only having one skew. Well I really don't think thats working. How many skews have they gone threw and how many more skews will there be? I'm not a PS3 hater but I've just been annoyed that all their skews are so confusing. 360 has four skews that have not changed (other than adding the arcade and elite)and wii has one skew that has not changed. Sony needs to either makea few skews and give their customer a choice or go with one skew and stick with. Feel free to comment any of your opinions.

Non Gamers Like Puzzle Quest?

Apparently people who usually don't play games enjoy playing Puzzle Quest. I've had acouple of non gamers try it out and they all enjoyed it. Even my mom, who never plays games, played it 2 hours straight. I just bought the game a few days ago and I'm really enjoying it. It actually makesbejeweled fun. I didn't think i would like it but it's really fun. Go try it out.

Don't Play Yaris!

Ok I heard about that free yaris game on the xbox live arcade, and well you get what you pay for. I was going to play it through for the achievements but it sucks so much. I don't recommend it, but if you want some free achievements i guess you should try it. Actually just don't play it.At all.

Finished Portal and Episode 2 yesterday

As you probably know the Orange box was released a few days ago. I preordered it on steam so right when it was released I jumped right in. The first thing I went into was Portal. One reason was because I only had about 10 minutes to play, but another was that it was something different. It was really fun and just amazing. I've never played a game like it before. After playing through portal I went right into Episode 2 which is probably the best Half-life game yet. I loved every second of it. I'm not going to spoil anything here but the ending just leaves you hanging. Now I'm really looking forward to episode 3. I can't wait to see the conclusion. Go buy the Orange Box. It's an amazing collection of games. $50 for 3 new games, and if you haven't played Half-life 2 and Episode 1 that's 5 games and every single one of them are amazing. Not to mention all the mods you can get for Half-life 2.

World in Conflict Tournament

I had a fun time in the world in conflict tournament. Sadly we got owned in under 30mins but the that is partly because one of our team members didn't show up. My team consisted of LordMeteos, Suddenstriker52, and drusik92. Pasadenguy was in our team but didn't show up, but anyway thanks for everyone showing up. We did ok considering it was our first time playing together. Don't forget to send a lot of hate mail to Pasadenguy. Now I'm off to play some orange box.

Just Playing Halo 3

Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile I haven't had much time to, but anyway all I've been playing this week is halo 3. I didn't really buy it because I like the game because I'm not a huge halo fan but a lot of my friends have it so we've been playing coop and we've had fun messing around in forge and killing eachother and stuff. After orange box comes out I'll be done with halo 3 for a while though. I can't wait for orange box. It's going to be very fun. I've had a lot of fun with tf2. I wish more of my friends played pc games and stuff, but most of them just have 360s. Only a few of them have mid range or low end gaming PCs, but I've had fun playing halo with my friends. I hate turning around though. It takes forever when your use to using mouse and keyboard. The funny thing is I still own my friends even though the spend a whole lot more time on the 360 than me. Also unrelated to games our varsity football team is 6-0 now. Check up on my next blog. Later

What I've been Doing this week

I have posted a blog in a while. I've been really busy with school starting up again, but I'll try to post more often. Anyway I got my copy of World in Conflict the other day,I pre-ordered ordered the orange box, and I got in on the CoD4 Beta. So pretty much I'll I've been playing is World in Conflict, Team Fortress 2, and Call of Duty 4. I've really enjoyed them all. World in Conflict looks amazing. So far I've really enjoyed it. I haven't finished the campaign yet and I haven't played any multiplayer other than in the beta a while back. I've also had a lot of fun with Team Fortress 2. I'm not really sure why they're calling it a beta though becausethe games finished and they don't have time tofix anything before launch anyway so yeah it's pretty much the game not a beta. I never played the originalTeam Fortress buttf2 isreally fun.My favorite class would probably have tobe the spy. I also like the heavy and the engineer. Oh yeah and tf2 has achievements. I thought that was kinda cool. Half-life 2 episode 2 will also have achievements. The Call of Duty 4 betahasbeen fun. I haven't played it as muchbecause I reached the level cap (16)but I still play it some. I really liked the ranking system in CoD4.It's really cool. You getexperience for kills and completing different challenges. Some examples would be: Fall 30ft to your death, call in a helicopter, get # kills with_____ weapon, get # headshots with ____ weapon, get 3 nade kills, and other stuff like that. It's really fun and it's definately on my list of games to buy. Btw there are way to many games on my games to buy list. There are too many good games coming out this year. It's cool but it kinda sucks too because I know I can't get them all. Anyway thats all I've been playing this week. So check in for my next blog. Oh and I forgot to say I beat BioShock for my 4th time this time on my friends copy of the 360 versionand I got 850 achievement points. I really don't want to run through it again for the other achievements because I don't want to play it so much that it gets boring.I also prefer the PC version anyway.Feel free to comment and check up on my upcoming blogs which I'll try to do maybe once a week.
