the psu would be more like $30 case more like $20 mobo more like $65 keyboard and mouse not more than $60 thats $195 right there.Apple is accused of being overpriced, but the truth is that iMac 27" is actually very fairly priced, and an excellent gaming machine.
IPS 1440x2560 Display = $1000
i5-2400 3.1GHz = $180
6970m (Equivilent to 6850) = $150
PSU = $60
Casing = $100
4GB ram = $30
1TB 7200RPMHard Drive = $125
Motherboard = $100
Keyboard/Mouse = $100
Speakers = $25
HD Webcam = $30
One-Year warranty = complimentary

Amazon sells the iMac for $1910.
This goes to show that apple is not as over priced as people think. You also get an OS which I would value at atleast $100, for free.
When you break it down, iMac's are premium and reasonably priced computers, even more-so than PC's.

.. then get a case window?yeah and i can see that because i have my case open, so once a year i spray it with air duster. if you change hardware alot its far easier to have no side, and a light case - light because its cheap. really spending much than £40 unless you plan on doing serious overclocking or need the space of a full power for loads of drives is just pure ego feeding. it doesnt make your pc one iota better and its less practcal.the problem with open cases is that dust buildup dramatically increases.

Although the price is high, the case is totally worth it. Although you may as well go with the Full Tower too ;3

i reccomend you dont spend more than £30 or $40. theres just no need to spend any more.

Imo cheap cases have a tendency to have cheap metals, which hold in heat.
well ive only ever brought cheap cases and never had a problem. i find i take the side off alot anyway to change things about and i prefer to see directly into my pc, seeing a mobo and fans spinning is alot more interesting than the side of a case. so i dont get heat problems. i never have either in the few times ive had the side on. never bothered with intake/outtake either, no need. my 2500k is perfectly stable at 4.6ghz.
all cards bottleneck with all cpu's.. heck a voodoo 5000 ( a ---- old card from the day of the pentium I) is bottlenecked by a core i5 2500k.. (i can proove this btw)[QUOTE="Wopps"]
Incase you don't know, the b50 is the x2 550 black edition unlocked. I have it 3.3ghz stable with that video card. Just wondering if it's a bottleneck at all?
ionusX
it wont go away. it all comes down to how big the bottleneck is. in yiour case it wont be very large.. id rest easy
er i really dont think so. 'specially seeing as you think the voodoo 5000 was around the time of a pentium 1. it actually came out just after the pentium 3 if i remember right.no he wont.
i reccomend you dont spend more than £30 or $40. theres just no need to spend any more.
install direct x and drivers for your onboard?
otherwise make sure you didnt actually dislodge your sound card, if you have one
Why is a decent PSU a bad thing? Why is overkill a bad thing?
No, I'm not bragging. Jesus I see threads like this all the time.
Jobesky123
that just means that there are alot of lame braggers about. its a good enough pc but you could get near identical performance for about £400 less.
why not just get a ps2 emulator?
