I have the non-HD version, primary use for pc gaming. Most if not all newer games run at full screen 1980 x 1200 res, no black bar. Games look so really good. I don't remember having my ps3 displaying black bar with this monitor, though. I could be wrong. nchan

Thats because you dont have the HD version thus it doesnt have 1:1 pixel mapping, meaning the picture you were viewing was being stretched to fit the screen.

Since the tv is 32inch its not gonna make a huge difference between either one. if its gonna save you alot get the 720p because nost ps3 games come in 720p

Id like to know how you come to this conclusion.

[QUOTE="rastan"]No they are not.monson21502
well they are alot cheaper now. and seem to get even cheaper every year. kinda makes getting a 720 p tv kinda pointless this day in age imo.

If you want to base your TV choice on the best resolution available thats fine, others would rather buy whats best for them and for some that is 720p due to their viewing distance.

[QUOTE="KHAndAnime"] Yea, he's wrong, but what difference does it make - his point remains and 360 games aren't 1080P. The difference between 360 being able to output 1080P is absolutely nil. ;)

KHAndAnime

No listen. Some games are 1080p, not all, infact most aint 1080p, but some are.

The amount is so little that it doesn't make a difference to anyone. 6 games, 4 of them being XBLA games with not very good graphics in the first place. The other two are obscure titles that nobody plays.

Hence his point and now yours is totally wrong. There are games that are rendered at 1080p. How many is toally irrelvant to the point he first made.

VERY few games render at 1080. I never said it couldn't output 1080, it upscales. Halo 3: 640p; CoD4: 600p. Most games render at 720p.

Also very few TV's can display 1080p over component. That is the opposite with HDMI/DVI.

You said it doesnt render 1080. It does render 1080, you were wrong. Regardless at how often it does, the main point is it can and does, hence you were wrong.

You could of made a new thread mate.

Anyway, it's probably 1080i if not over HDMI or DVI.

Also, the xbox will simply upscale the image as it doesn't actually render 1080.

The 360 can output native 1080p.

[QUOTE="Heirren"]

Didn't want to start a new thread, but I just went to my xbox dashboard and the 1080p option is now available. It is a pre hdmi model. This option was never there before. Out of curiousity I clicked the video setting and it worked. What gives? I haven't really examined the picture, but I was under the impression I needed hdmi for 1080p.
