no one is desperate. the big three are all doing pretty damn well, actually. nintendo is making crazy cash, using stuff that most people thought would be short lived gimmicks. microsoft is making profit in the hundreds of millions each quarter, which is pretty good for this being their second console, and going against a couple of companies who have been major players in the industry for at least 5 or 6 years longer than microsoft. sony is getting their stuff together, and i would say are close to pulling even with the 360 when it comes to what it offers for hardcore gamers... it took them a while to get a true killer ap (MGS4) and their still getting their xmb stuff integrated, but they're getting there. honestly, i don't think you can go wrong owning any of the three consoles. i own a 360 because i'm an american, and for NG2, gears, halo, and a ton of surprise games that i've loved (bioshock, dead rising, crackdown, etc.)
you want to know why that happens? it's not a glitch. when you quit a game before it ends, your stats like revives count on your leaderboard total, but not for your achievements. so stop quitting games, and you'll be fine.

it's still a must buy for you... i 've played a lot of psp games, and so far crisis core stands head and shoulders above the rest. you'll enjoy it that much more if you were a fan of final fantasy vii, but this is still the best game on the psp by itself.
I still play old games like Gears of war, Nascar 06 (xbox), etc. I like the old games. Mind you, new games are good too, can't wait for Gears of war 2.RushMetallica
i can't tell if he's being serious or not... gears of war is an old game?? super mario brothers, or the legend of zelda are old games... i could see if you said sonic the hedgehog was an old game... but i would find it odd if you called a ps2 or xbox game old, let alone a game that came out less than 2 years ago.

but yeah, we are definitely going through a golden age of gaming... i've bought about 20 xbox games, and i can say there has only been one i didn't think was a really good game (perfect dark zero)... back in the ps1 days, or super nintendo, and especially nintendo, it was really hit or miss.
and to those of you that are 29 and buying used games off of ebay... don't you have jobs? support the industry that you spend so much time enjoying, buy your games new.
dialoii.net says they have confirmation, and that's good enough for me... i've been visiting that site for about 10 years it seems, and they haven't steered me wrong yet.
