ok can someone help me here.

I was playin hoops 2k7, and it froze so i turned it off and on, and it froze again. I try again, and I get the 3 red lights, so I'm like damnit. I try once again to turn it off and on and I get the lights again. I wait about 5 minutes, turn it back on, andit's normal again. I'm guessing this won't last a while, but I;m wondering if this is normal

Also, if it did break and I had to send it in or whatever you do, will it keep the memory (season modes, progress in a game, etc.)

The same exact thing happened to me.  After a couple weeks it would just got straight to the three red lights.  I just sent it out Friday for repairs.  If you call Microsoft and make them aware of the problem, they will give you a reference number.  Next time you get the ring of death call in with your number and tell them it is done.

I ended up calling back 5 minutes after I got off the phone with them the first time.

I want to be able to customize my PS3 like I can with my x360.

Truth.  When my Xbox 360 was working, I had a sweet Porsche picture on it.

NO real problems, but my PS3 has froze a couple times. It mainly happens when I exit a game to the XMB.LosDaddie

 Yeah I have had a few freezes, but it's basically a computer and computers freeze all the time.

An HDMI cable isn't going to break the system.  If it did, Sony would have provided one with it.

I was just curious.  I don't want to start a whole 360 vs. PS3 thing, but I own both and my 360 just died.  Needless to day I am very very annoyed right now.  I have been doing some research and it seems that there is a rash of people with dying 360's lately. 

I was just wondering if the PS3 is fairing any better.  I haven't heard much in the way of PS3's dying.

Ps i only buy the offical brand stuff but that's just me,I like using the best on my gaming consoles and etc because 2nd and 3rd rate companies stuff tend to f*** your s*** upbluegender

That's ridiculous.  I just had mine die yesterday.  I hope I don't have this to look forward to.  Microsoft seems to have some huge quality issues.

The first one was really good.  What are you talking about?  I actually played through it a few times just because I had so much fun the first time.
