Theres no warranty sticker over the hard drive enclosure,so you can safely change hard drive without voiding your warrantyYes, I think. Have you read the sticker which says, "If you remove me, then the warranty is out the window"? It says it quite clearly when you go to change the hard drive... or at least mine did.

[QUOTE="dkjestrup"]Does the 1TB HDD not make it more likely to overheat? I think I read that somewhere. Also, what's it got to do with economics, it's a pretty simple concept; More is better (at least in this case).I read that a 500Gb is the limit you can safely fit without overheating your PS3.No. BUT, if you're changing the hard drive, you're much better off getting as big as possible, 1 T is probably the best, as they're pretty cheap now. Because if you go from a 120gb to a 500gb, you only have 380gb of space (assuming you're copying everything over). But if you get a terrabyte, you get 880gb space, which is more than double the spare space you'd have with the 500gb one.
EDIT: If you do economics, thing of it as a fixed cost and an unfixed cost. The more you make, the lower the fix cost is as a %. Same here. The more over 120gb you get, the better.

You will like the rest of us,have to wait for Sony to fix this in a future firmware update,it's summat to do with changes to the you tube player which means our PS3 browsers dont support it at momentHI! I went on youtube.com to watch and listen tomy favorite music as usual but a nifty little message came up saying i needed to dl the latest "adobe flash player". PROBLEM: currently, adobe doesnt have software that supports us. Wierd thing is that the video will play just fine , for a fraction of a second, only to have that message rudely interupt, then the screen goes blank. What should i do?

Was playing Killzone 2 up to about 2 nights ago,now gone back onto Uncharted 2 to play multiplayer for the first time last night.I loved the campaign mode and completed it in Normal mode, but must say that towards the end i couldn't help but think, when am i ever gonna get to the end of this game?-It left me feeling drained and at the moment, even though i love the game,i've got no wish to play the next level in campaign mode!
Well I've had previously 2 Phat PS3s-Firstly the 60GB with B.C.,then more recently a 80GB which i upgraded to 320 GB,but then my sons 60Gb went YLOD of him so i let him have that one,and now i've got a 120Gb Slim which runs quieter and uses less power than my 2 previous consoles, and being the most up to date PS3 with the smaller cooler running chips,i feel more confident that it wont suffer the YLOD-but only time will tell on that score.
So i would say go for the Slim version simply cos it's the newest version of PS3.
[QUOTE="lyndonAPI"]There is a small length of ethernet cable included (unless they took this out with the Slim, I had it with the old original launch model) but it was really too short to be of much use.starwarsjunkyi dont *remember* getting it, but ive got 50 ethernet cables laying around anyways lolI'm pretty sure i had a short cable included with my Slim that i got in February, but i always go wireless,so it's probrably still in the box on top my wardrobe.
Hi All.I posted several months ago about a problem while playing Quantum of Solace in campaign mode, that problem being that my PS3 froze while shooting gas cylinders and exploding them while inside the hotel,my ps3 used to freeze up at the same point every time.
Well i just noticed from my inbox some advice on this problem from tobyd99 and just in case it's of any help to anyone experiencing similar problems, then you can follow Activision support advice:tinyurl.com/y8d7fye
Thanks to tobyd99 for his message,I haven't had the same problem recently because i've now changed my PS3 to a Slim and maybe it was a problem with my previous fat PS3.
You could swop hds and back up your saves to a USB memory stick then put the new hd back in and copy from USB to new hard drive
