Same here+running 120GB Slim.

Can someone please explain to me why on my 120 GB PS3 I have the ability to create a PS2 memory card, but I can't play any PS2 games? Seriously? Are they going to release a firmware update to enable PS2 support? Hell, I'd even pay money for it if they did.

I went ahead and put a Seagate 640 hd in it so far its working great took a total of about 20 mins to do the change and install . l had the 80 gig back wards compitable but it broke and l had it repaired 3 times no luck . l ran out of room on it with my over 135 games so l decided to get the biggest harddrive that would fit in it . l dont like doing external drives .

Yea-I was writing a comment into facebook on my 120GB 2month old Slim.Entered-or tried to enter the comment and my PS3 totally froze up and had to switch it off by holding main on/off button on console+it beeped 3 times as it shut down.

Perhaps a hard drive replacement will solve your problem cos the corrupted file has obviously installed itself on your PS3s current hard drive?
