actually it has been around five years since i've bought my hd ready tv set, and i was intending to upgrade to a larger, full hd tv set with 100 - 200 hz technology, this year however with the release of the new 3d tv sets i intend to buy one next year this time around, when the second line of these show up, maybe their prices may drop to more reasonable figures... i do think that the best 3d experience will be in the games and i am looking forward to it... :)MondasMtrouble is-Will we have to all sit around in Geeky 3D glasses?-I hate wearing my glasses for driving enough already!

Trouble is-Once our PS3s get the 3D firmware update, then were all gonna be behind with the latest technology concerning our tvs.at the very least, a plasma's deep, rich colors are reason enough to make a switch.
Plasma televisions at one point were not ideal for game, when the technology was older. Newer gen plasma's can tolerate static images much better.
If i was going to buy an LCD tomorrow however, it would be an LED.

Myself,I don't want anything to do with 3D Tv and gaming until you can buy a tv with it built in and no need for any Stupid glasses to wear-which are at present about $100 a pair!

Well from previous postings I've read here on Gamespot it seems like all the Phat PS3 develop a problem with their thermal paste after approx 2-3 years, which breaks down allowing components to literally fry.Topic.
How often does the 80 gb get ylod? I know the 60gb has lots of problems. But I haven't really heard much from the 80gb.

I've had 1 60Gb go YLOD on me and was approx 2 and a half years old.
Yep-You can stream music ,pictures, vids etc from your laptop to your PS3 and save them there.today I turned on my PS3 for the first time in like 3 weeks (been too busy with Persona 3), and I noticed that under Music/Photos/Video on the XMB there's a new icon that is displaying the name of my laptop and it has a Windows icon. I was wondering what this is? Is it some sort of remote play or something? I've never done anything on my laptop regarding my PS3 so I'm guessing the PlayStation is auto-detecting the computer with wi-fi or something? Anyway, I clicked on it on the XMB and it said something along the lines of a settings error or something.
Anyone want to give me the run-down of this feature and how to use it to max potential because it sounds really, really interesting/useful.

To stream/copy music you must open your laptop icon on XMB on music vertical media bar, pictures on photo media bar etc
From previous experiences with pre-orders,I've found it's usually better to buy the games over the counter on day of purchase and you can usually find a cheaper/better deal with something free or money off.[QUOTE="sizzlingdviper"]

I guess you don't use amazon then. When amazon offers a $20 bonus it's hard to top that on release date. If you wait until release date it's usually full retail price with no bonus. So why would you wait to buy "over the counter" and pay full price + tax? Sometimes you have to wait MONTHS to see a legit retail price drop $20. It really depends on the game though. Sometimes the drop is much quicker, but I think it's safe to say I've never seen a retail store drop $20 in the days immediately after release.
Yes I do use Amazon a lot and yes-You do get some really good deals with them. But here in UK i cant ever remember being offered a 20% bonus with any online retailer, and we certainly dont have to add on any after sale taxes when buying in the high street, that is,apart from the usual 17.5% VAT we pay on most stuff here. But i do remember pre-orderering games with online retailers before and being offered a discount on purchase price, only then to find that high street stores such as blockbusters and Gamestation offering the same reduced price plus free discount vouchers for future games rentals and purchases.
