Appreciating our 5 Senses: Sight, Hearing, Taste, Smell, and Touch

As humans, we have many things that help us get through life. We all have a brain, a heart, hands, feet, and other body parts and organs that help us get through life and survive. On top of having these body parts and organs we have 5 senses, each with a different purpose. These 5 sense are powerful, and while we can live without them, it would be very difficult to. When ever I hear someone ask someone else what they are happy for it is usually a material object or a body part. While I am happy to hear people say they are happy for body parts (because some people are missing body parts we have), I am a bit mad that people very rarely say they are happy to hear, see, taste, smell, and touch. It seems like people forget how important these senses are as they can save your life, and they make our life now easier. So, I will spend the next few paragraphs talking about our senses and how they are important.

Sight: I will start with sight. Sight is probably our most important sense as it allows us to see. This allows us to play video games, drive, watch t.v., see loved ones and friends, watch all of the miraculous animals and plants of nature, and do so much more. On top of that, sight is also an important defense. Imagine how hard it would be to defend yourself from something if you can't see where it is or where it is coming from. Also, sight is an important tool. It would be impossible to do things like fix objects and build building without sight. Sight is probably a more important tool then the actual tools are. I can only imagine what a blind person has to go through in life. Having to have a person or special dog guide you through it. We also have to remember that sight allows us to see color. Lets not forget about those whom are color blind and can not see in the correct color. We must remember how important sight truly is.

Hearing: Next is hearing, which is probably our second most important sense. Hearing allows us to hear all the sound of life, whether it be an alarm clock to wake us up or a car horn to alert us. Think of all the things you wouldn't be able to do without hearing; you wouldn't be able to hear music, hear the voices of friendsor loved ones, or hear the sounds of nature (animals, water, etc). Also, not being able to hear puts you in danger when driving. What if someone honked their horn to alert you that someone was about to crash into you or if a police car put on their sirens to tell you to get out of the way, you wouldn't be able to hear it. Hearing is also an important defense. What if someone was shooting a gun or coming up behind you to attack you; since you can't hear anything it may cause you to walk right to the area where that person was shooting the bullets or it may allow the person that was about to attack from behind get away with it. Think of all the things deaf people must go through. Not being able to hear is no joke.

Smell: Now we are at smell. Smell is one a lot of people see as a bad thing because of all the "bad smells" there are. Well, I'm sure all of those people would take that back when they couldn't smell things like flowers, food, and candles anymore. Also, those "bad smells" people complain about can save your life. Imagine you couldn't smell and you just had a gas leak in your house, well since you can't smell that gas you won't react to it in anyway and your house can end up blowing up. What if there was a fire and you were sleeping, sinse you can't smell you wouldn't smell the smoke so you wouldn't wake up and you could end up dieing because of it. Next time you wish you couldn't smell think about it.

Taste: Here we are at taste. Taste allows us to taste all of our favorite foods and drinks. Imagine what it would be like to eat or drink something without being able to taste, it just wouldn't be the same. Taste also help alert us of foods and drinks that are spoiled or bad so we don't get sick. Eating and drinking just wouldn't be the same without the taste.

Touch: On to the last sense, touch. Touch pretty much allows us to feel everything from itching to numbness. Think about what it would be like without touch; you wouldn't be able to feel anything. I know this may seem like a good thing, but it is not. If we didn't have the touch sense and we put our hands over fire, then we wouldn't have that little "voice" in our head telling us to "move your hand!" Also, what if you just got in a car accident? Sure, it may seem good that you weren't able to feel that impact, but look at it this way. What if your organs got damaged from that impact and you weren't able to feel it? You would just keep going through life until your body collapses from all of those injuries you got but didn't know about because you couldn't feel it. No matter all of the annoying things that can come from your touch sense, it could end up saving your life.

These 5 senses need to be appreciated more then they are!

My opinion on the new Pokemon and Legendaries

My opinion on the Pokemon. The opinions are very simple.

Giaruhttp://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/2/26/Giaru.png

I think it looks pretty cool. The coloring is good and I like how it is two gears put together. I could have done with the greenish-blue "noses" they have to be a bit smaller and their eye to be normal instead of an"X".

Overall: 7/10

---------------------

Chiramiihttp://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/7/7e/Chiramii.png

I'm not really a fan of this one. I don't know what it is, but I don't really like it. I don't really like its neck hair and ear hair.

Overall: 4/10

---------------------

Munnahttp://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/9/94/Munna.png

I think it looks pretty cool. The only thing I don't really like about it is its coloring, it makes it look to girly.

Overall: 7/10

----------------------

Mamepatohttp://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/f/f3/Mamepato.png

People are comparing it to Pidgey and Starly, but I personally like it better then both of them. It looks cooler overall and resembles a pigeon more then those two.

Overall: 7.5/10

---------------------

HihidarumaFile:Hihidaruma.png

It looks cool and all, but for some reason I fell it looks a bit cartoony and it has wierd eyebrows.

Overall: 7/10

------------------------

Shimamahttp://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/c/ca/Shimama.png

Egh, I don't really like it. It should have had a different stripe pattern and eye color.

My #1 Favorite Gamecube Game!

Here it is!!!

--------------------

#1. Pikmin 2

If you haven't played Pikmin 2 then you are missing out. Pikmin 2 is my favorite games for several reasons. First of all, it takes everything that made the first Pikmin good and improves it. Second, it takes everything that made the first Pikmin bad (mainly having to beat the game in a certain amount of time) and fixes it. Third, it brings in a two player mode so you can enjoy the game with a friend. Fourth, it brings in two new Pikmin to help balance out the game (see below for details on the new Pikmin). Fifth, it has some of the most unforgetable bosses I have ever seen. Sixth, it brings in new enemy types and elements. Seventh,it changed the abilities of the original three Pikmin a bit to improve gameplay (see below). And lastly, it brings a new story and objective (see below).

Story: Olimar returns from the Pikmin planet to his planet to find out that the company he works for is now in debt, thanks to Louie (your new partner). The company leader is worried when all of a sudden Olimar drops a bottle cap. That bottle cap ends up being worth 100 dollars! The company leader is shocked and pleased to see this, so he sends Olimar back to the Pikmin planet with Louie to retreve treasures to help pay off the companies debt.

Purple Pikmin: Are the slowest, heaviest, and strongest Pikmin. In the original Pikmin there wasn't really a Pikmin for fighting, but now with the Purple Pikmin you are able to kick enemies asses. They can daze enemies, carry X10 what other Pikmin can, and cause damage upon impact.

White Pikmin: Are the fastest, poison resistant, poisones themselves, and can find burried treasure. They have the same speed as Olimar so they very rarely get left behind and when they get eaten they cause damage to the creature that eats them. If you walk over an area with burried teasure they will spot it and start digging and there poison resistance helps with beating some enemies and taking down some walls.

Blue Pikmin: Can now save drowning Pikmin.

Yellow Pikmin: Are now electric resistant and can't carry bombs anymore.

Red Pikmin: Now have better fighting skills.

PLAY THIS GAME!!!

#3. Paper Mario Thousand Year Old Door

This game is probably my favorite console RPG of all time. It has what all great RPGs should have: cool characters, fun worlds, a good fight system, and an epic final boss battle. Compaired to the other Paper Mario's, this one is the longest and hardest; moreover it has the best bosses and the most unique worlds. I also like how the battle system is easy to learn, how you have cool special moves, and how the partner characters are really cool. Did I also mention that the Pit of 100 Trials is hard as hell. This game is an epic RPG.

----------------------

#2. Super Mario Sunshine

The best Mario game I have played so far. This game has done so much I can't even list it all. First off it was the introduction of Petey, Piantas, and Nokis. It was also the perfect difficulty in my opinion. It had some tricky boss battles, I will never forget the challenge I got from that sting-ray. The levels all looked pretty lively with color and characters. And last but not least, Sunshine has the best hub world of any video game IMO. Delfino Plaza rocks! This game was completely kick ass!

#5. Luigi's Mansion

This game is an absolute blast to play. First of all, you get to play as Luigi (Mario's underappreciated brother). You also get to catch and defeat ghosts in a "GhostBusters" type way. The game offers many ghost types that funtion differently and keep the gameplay from becoming stale. The boss ghosts are also all pretty unique because they all have different powers, ways of beating, and apperances. There is also the crazy Prof. Egad who is a pretty funny character. I also like how they have money you can collect to determin how good you did. But, the best thing about this game was that it marked the first apperance of King Boo, who was a totally awesome final boss. I have beaten this game 5 times so far because it is that fun. To bad the game itself was pretty short.

----------------------

#4. Animal Crossing

A never ending game. One of AC biggest advantages over other games is that you could play this game forever and you never officially 100% beat it. There is so much to do. You can catch bugs, find fossils, fish, run errands for others, compete in contests, celebrate holidays, and more. This is my favorite AC game because at the time it was a fresh expierence and I like the overall gameplay better (yes, there are some differences in gameplay). Also, who can forget their first time seeing Tom Nook, K.K. Slider, and Mr. Resseti? I'm never going to forget having to pay Tom Nook back. I also can't forget to mention the fact that AC lets you get NES games and play them! This is probably my favorite simulation game so far. One of the Gamecubes best.

#7. Super Monkey Ball 2

A simple concept of rolling a ball from point A to point B, mixed with the theme of monkeys, makes one totally awesome game. Monkey Ball 2 has some pretty creative stages and characters that add some extra flare to the games. Also, this game has some pretty fun mini-games that you can play, like billiards and bowling, which gives the game extra replay value. I also like how you can record several stages you do to show off your skills. However, the problem with this game is that a lot of the later stages become really hard, and start to require more luck then skill. Overall the game is still a blast to play, especially if you are playing with others.

--------------------------------------

#6. Mario Party 7

Ever have more then 4 friend over and feel like the only way you can play is by taking turns? Well, MP7 corrects that problem. With up to 8 players your friends and family can join in on the fun without having to leave anyone out. The inclusion of the mic was also a good one as it added some more unique was to play. The mini-games were also some of the best introduced in the MP series. However, the fact that it is only a party game prevents it from ranking higher.
