@RCT4ShouldExist: i would be fine with 30 frames a second in gaming if it could stay above it.........then i would just have to drop a ton of setting to get over a 100 in online gaming....like we are going to do any ways.....
@RCT4ShouldExist: i edit 4k and use a 128gb of memory, 2 12 core xeons, server grade dual socket mother, 3 780 ti 6gb's (going to upgrade) with a gen 3 tesla, PCI-E 1tb SSD main, 2 512gb SSD drives in raid for scratch disc, 8 2tb HD in 2 raid 10 stacks with a 1500 watt PSU........its not over built for EDITING as i have seen real world loads of a 120gb out of 128gb on the mother when working......and yes i built ALL of these units running in the office.....we have 12 of them
@seanwil545: wow......so he got parts a little above the cheapest on the board big deal......going with 32gb of memory on DDR4 makes sense its a 4 channel memory controller on the CPU and the mother has 8 memory slots.....getting all 4 channels running gives a little extra in the stuff that can use it and there are cheaper kits.......220 for a case is nothing if it comes loaded with fans.....dont know what one he got but 220 can get a case that has every fan port plugged with good fans right out of the box......this kind of build will need to get rid of the heat.....to be honest the power supply should be 800 if not 900watt just to get to a sweet spot of running......
@Baconstrip78: WE are not the norm.....i have a AMD 955 quad CPU from 09......not many people are running 7 year old CPU's even with half the people on steam are running dual cores......consoles for years have cost more then PC if you have brains.....you keep most of the parts and only upgrade a single part most of the time.....yes at some point you upgrade the mother, CPU and memory but you NEVER upgrade more then those 3 parts at any one time.....if you have the brains to do things like buy a RETAIL version of windows you can move it to new mother boards without buying new copies.....(this works with even upgrade versions as long as its a retail box) getting a bigger power supply then what you need will save on the power bill and make sure you can get that bigger GPU without thinking about power needs.....willingness to buy used parts if shown to be working can get you along for years CHEAPLY.....i about to buy a GTX 970 for a 100 bucks to replace a 770 4gb i got for 125 just over 2 years ago.......PC gaming is the CHEAPEST way to play games and most games make it to PC now as long as your not a sports nut.....
@asiel_code_7: 60 frames at 4k with only 5tf of data cant happen.....the 1080 is running 9tf without even calculating a CPU and it cant run everything at 60 frames at 4k when it has a 3tf CPU added to it!!!.......yes i get what optimization will do but it cant make up for almost half the band width.......at BEST you will get real 4k at 30 frames or 2k blow up to 4k like what 360 and PS3 did with 720p to 1080p......we can hope but i dont see it happening......
@Spartan_418: i have gotten 4 or 5 cards off this guy over the years......my 260 i got from him is still working.....my 480 i got from him is in some ones computer for dual screen......and the 770 i got from him is still going......im going to get it today.....thanks for the info.....
