@jerjef: wrong.....rendering at 4k and then outputting to even a 720p screen will make a huge difference.......go look it up..... Nvidia cards do this and the games look so much better even on a 4k screen
@joshrmeyer: its a dick move but if its really 6tf sony has problems coming.....if you already have a PS4 why get a new one until the next xbox drops just to see what one is worth it??? can the year gap really do anything for them if they stay the home of 3rd party games, with most games coming out for everything including cell phones???.....i think it was smart on MS's part to do it because it will make a lot of people wait just to see the new xbox before they drop cash......and that could back fire on MS and sell a lot of NOE's in 2017.......we will see....
@jako998: you wasted money.......if you could have gotten 4k content to that 1080p screen and had it calibrated you would have never have gotten the new TV......4k is a waste under 60 inches and you need to be sitting 5 feet from that to really see.....the sad fact is running even a calibrated 720p next to a 4k TV both running 4k content you would have never been able to tell what one was 4k without a little sticker at the bottom of the screen saying 4k.......if what i say is not true how can nvidia make things look better rendering at 4k but outputting to a 1080p screen???
@calamityo: sorry my friend but you are very wrong.....4k content shown even on a 720p screen looks so much better.....starting out with a better quality image is always seen......if you need a clue go download SKS 4k test broadcast and watch it on any TV you have.....after that go look at all the pictures and video you can find of Nvidia cards rendering in 4k and outputting to 1080p screens with the up scaling options their cards can do......to be blunt if we could broadcast in 4k and made sure everyone had calibrated 1080p screens they would never sell a single 4k TV again.......so what it really comes down to will they let the games be rendered in 4k and output to a 1080p screen so every one gets something out of it.????
@Ex1st3nz: we knew last year the specs for BOTH were signed in paper already......MS did a good job keeping the specs under rap but both had been confirmed because AMD said they were working on the hardware and saw stock go up.....at any rate the year gap done with good games will help them make the sales gap of hardware even bigger.....they cant make this year the lame duck of 3rd party games like its been since day one.......sony has problems......they need to make people want to buy the system and not wait the year to see what MS does.....
@motopram: that cant be.....a 1080 is getting 40 frames in a lot of games at 4k running ultra setting with things like AA OFF.......4k at 30 frames sounds more like it to me.....people are already willing to put up with 30 frames with the number of ones and PS4 sold........
@ramborojas: polygon counts man polygons!!!......first and for most i dont see 4k support at all with only 6tf of bandwidth......we have the 1080 coming in with 9tf and its still getting 40 frames in a ton of games at 4k with a real CPU........next is the fact just like the PS3 and 360 running 2k and up scaling it to 4k sounds better and will work......
