@Kano92: but they should......PC is making a killing right now with all the sales in parts made just for gaming........2012 was the last year i saw numbers for....in that year 342 million GPU's were sold in the world.....out of those 144 million were gaming able cards!! games like fallout 4 sold better on PC then on consoles(not PS4 numbers with ONE numbers but PC VS PS4 or PC VS one, PC sold the most)......to many people are making computers just to game and even if some people are making rigs to play things like dota 2 or counter strike go their still playing games......and its all about the video games when it hits the fan.......
@starjay009: spot on man.....and the BS going on with nvidia gimping old cards with driver updates has to stop.....they are starting to act like they are apple or something....
@regulas: if that was true why did steam OS FAIL??? if linux was doing better then winspy why is steam crying and MS taking a victory lap??? god even ONE junks sales numbers is better then all of the steam boxes.....i want linux to work so we can get away from crimedows but its just not there.....i really wish sony would release their linux OS because it may do something for everything......
@bubblesplat: from what i know and have seen in my life......software takes a long time to make right and hardware comes out every 6 months.....with games taking some times 2 years to make some much changes in that time frame hardware wise no one can keep up.....by the time people find out how to use every drop of a say a 780 the 1080 has hit the market......consoles get the joy of knowing for the next 3 to 5 years its only going to be one hardware set to program for......
@gamerbum: optimization has a lot to do with how well the console will do.....IF the game maker push this hardware its going to do something.....as a long time PC gamer uncharted was good for a console game......if they keep that level i see good things coming but im still not paying for online and i will get a pro used in a year or 2......
@Fabian85: the 750 ti is a JOKE.....i just got rid of a 770 4gb for a 970....i have installed about 3 of the 750 ti's and all them did not run that great even when paired with a 3rd gen i5 in a ITX build.......
@starjay009: yes and no.....optimization has done a lot for consoles games and uncharted is a example of this......the level of the PC is better but the PC with have JUNK code next to the console....the bloated part of trying to run windows and DX 10 11 or 12 in the back round takes extra memory and processing power the PS4 will not have to use.....i very well understand its not apples to apples with this but it never was when you look at the optimization the consoles get......i wish they would do that level on PC some how but its not really possible with all the hardware out in the wild of gaming PC's.....would be nice if sony let out its OS and said you need this list of AMD hardware to run it.......people could build and mod all they want and sony could still sell legal games making the most money possible on just copy rights of the PS brand....that will never happen and sucks as it could be a way to get linux running on PC better for gaming.....
@adam42003: i hate console gamers that cant do math......real world cost of a DAY ONE PS4 PRO with 5 YEARS of online will be 750 and i think 800 if sony went to 60 bucks a year like live....what was that BS about it costing double??? what was that BS about performance per dollar when you will have to buy a new 400 dollar console in 3 to 5 years when i will upgrade a 200 dollar GPU because i was able to use the old harddrive, case power supply and a ton of other parts you had to throw away with the out dated console???......see console gamers dont understand....when a new console comes out a PC gamer can up grade one or 2 parts most of the time and get current or better then the consoles......with consoles about to become cell phones with releases every other year it will be cheaper to game on PC then then it is now......
new business model could be every 3 years.....so 400 dollar console with 150 for 3 years of online with new console again 400 dollars with 2 years of online at a 100 bucks.......that would be a 1050 for the SAME 5 years of gaming with online.........do you like what could be coming in consoles???? its going to cost you......
@Drkoolbeanz: i always go by 5 years.....whats the cost of the console and 5 years of online ....count that as the real base of what will be spent at the minimum.....most console gamers never look at like this but its a real cost to gaming.....and no i dont count the free games as anything because they are not free until you have paid something......
so much to this its not even funny.....16gb total VS 8gb total??? wish they had bandwidth numbers to go by so a better memory stack could have been used......optimization is going to do a lot for this console when the game makers really find out how to use it but that is going to take at least year......to be blunt if they really got to this level with the console it would be crazy good value for 400 bucks.....but i never see it doing a real 60 frames at 4k native unless its a textureless indie game......
