Hey people, I have just bought a new computer from mesh computers and I am wondering if it is good enough for gaming and for tasks like using word processors, watching movies etc.

Here are the specs;

 AMD athlon 64 x2 6000+ processor at 3ghz.

Windows vista home premium and basic microsoft office package.

Nvidia 8500 GT graphics card with SLI configuration.

2x1 gigabite of ram at 2 gigs of ram.

22 inch widescreen TFT LCD display at 5ms.

5.1 channel surround audio.

Thats the basic specs. Also if its not too much to ask I would like to know how to properly look after the computer so it could at least last me 2-3 years. Thank you very much, helps always appreciated :)

well i have just ordered my computer with the 8500 GT on it. I would be very confused if it couldnt easily run CSS and the other source games. The only DX10 game i might buy for my computer is halo 2 when it comes out. But i wont be upgrading it for a while as it has a fairly decent 2 gigs of ram, a 500 gig hard drive capacity, amd dual core x2 at 3ghz. I have to admit though that the new DX10 games like crysis look absoloutely real, but to play those graphically advanced games you would need a really decent card.:) The help has been really appreciated and i have learnt a lot more about graphics cards thanks.

I have just bought a computer with the 8500 gt graphics card in it and I think that the 8500 gt is a little bit quicker because for a start its a new graphics card and secondly it supports both directx 9 and the new direct x 10. :)

Ok thanks very much for that but because i am a bit of a computer noob i take it AA means anti-aliasing right? what does HDR mean??? I also have one more question about the nvidia 8500 gt. I have heard problems about it lately and some say it runs games like CSS very choppy if you have windows vista as your operating system. Is this true or could it be a lie?
